prodlimen
<Hi there. I would like to increase general performance in Fallout gameplay through adding more RAM memory (so I can be able to play in Ultra settings, reduce stutter, increase more FPS). These are the specs: Intel ® Core ™ i5-2500 CPU @3.30 GHz 3.30 GHz Ram 4.00 GB 64-bit Operating System AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6738) Internal DAC (400 MHz) AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series Total available Graphics Memory: 2806 MB Dedicated Video Memory 1024 MB System Video Memory 0 MB Shared System Memory 1782 MB I use tons of mods and I'm careful enough to read descriptions for possible incompatibilities, check load orders and also use most of the utilities/mods that help to increase performance for Fallout. I play with High settings (can play with Ultra settings but with a few mods), but in some parts the game turns slow. Specially in the loading screens, they tend to freeze a lot. I know that a GPU update could make such a difference, but for the moment I'm only considering increasing the RAM memory. I have now 4GB of RAM memory. If I add 4GB extra , could I expect a reasonable increase in performance in the game?. Or would it be mandatory to update GPU to notice it?. luthienanarion
No, more RAM will not improve performance in your case. If that's an integrated (on-board) GPU, that's where you need to look.
