Kadraeus Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Hi, does anyone know why my meshes might be showing up invisible or with only parts of them being visible in Creation Kit? The objects show up fine in game, but I obviously need to see them in order to edit things in CK. I also noticed that some objects show up with that missing mesh exclamation mark even though they're included in a BSA and all other meshes from that exact same BSA do show up in the CK. Those missing meshes also show up fine in the game (albeit some have missing textures) so I'm not really sure what's going on. Edit: You can also see in the background that there are floating banners. The wooden posts for them are there, and there's even a wooden platform above the gate behind them too. None of those show in Creation Kit for some reason Edited March 22, 2021 by Kadraeus
Kadraeus Posted March 25, 2021 Author Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) In case anyone stumbles on this thread in the future and has the same issue (I absolutely hate searching for answers and finding a forum post with the same issue I have but either no one answers or the people who do answer say they know multiple solutions but only explain one of them), I sort of figured it out on my own. The issue was that many of the patches for my mods added meshes of their own for some reason via BSAs. I had to add those BSAs to the the list in CreationKit.ini and some of them now appeared. I think I still missed a few that I needed to do this for, but oh well. I'm still not sure why the meshes showed up as invisible or half invisible. Any other time there were missing meshes they would show up with the exclamation mark symbol, not turn completely invisible. No clue why this happened this time. Edited March 25, 2021 by Kadraeus
agerweb Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 The exclamation mark appears at the bottom centre of the mesh, so it may have been hiden by other meshes or the ground.
somnomania Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I really hate necroing but I'm having this exact problem, having loaded Bruma into the CK so I can play around with putting some of the lovely houses from it in a new worldspace for myself. I've put the Bruma BSAs in both CreationKit.ini and SkyrimEditor.ini, and the mountain and rock cliff pieces are still missing the actual rock in a lot of instances, or are completely invisible.
inscenique Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I'm a bit late. but maybe this helps some other modders... You can either add the bsa to the list in the ini, as explained above, or more easily, load the esp file(s) that belongs to the mod with the hidden meshes as maters in Creation Kit along with your mod. You can later remove these masters with SSEEdit again... I had the same problem with mountain cliffs not showing up in CK, which makes exact positioning of things difficult. It turned out, CK didn't load the mointain cliffs because I have Majestic Mountains in my load order. Loading the Majestic Mountain esp files as masters in CK solved the problem and the mountain cliffs were shown.
