wildey Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Can someone tell me how to set up the Power Armor helmets so that you can breath underwater?I tried just adding the waterbreathing effect but that did not work.

wildey Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 go to game effects - object effectchange the power armor enchantment to inlcude water breathing That is what I did. It did not work. You still use air and when it runs out you still die. I tried it on multiple items as well. Helmets, rad suits, enviroment suit with all the same result. I tried to modify the water breathing effect but couldn't get anywhere with that either.
jaysus Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 then its prolly an artifact from oblivion and not a real game effect and thus has no function at all...but maybe you can script the effect...

I don't know how to do scripting. Could someone help out on how I would set it up, or better yet write it for me. I want to do it for all the airtight outfits, the armor, the rad suits, and the enviroment suit. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could do this for me.
jaysus Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 i think i found it... didnt try it tho...go to_ game effects - base effects - water breathing; and uncheck "no magnitude" and "no duration"
wildey Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 i think i found it... didnt try it tho...go to_ game effects - base effects - water breathing; and uncheck "no magnitude" and "no duration" You are amazing!!! I tried just with those unchecked but it didn't work, so I put ten days duration and 100 magnitude and that worked. I tried 10 seconds as well and I was underwater for much longer than 10 seconds and nothing happened. It seems that you don't really need a duration at all but I haven't tested that. Kudos to you (and I did give you a kudo). Thank you again for the help. Use it in a mod and take full credit for it (since you did come up with it). I just want it to work for my game. Again thanks.
jaysus Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 if you set a duration to 0 its unlimited, if you set it to lets say 10 minutes you must calculate how long 10 minutes are ingame to know the actual durationmagnitude should prolly be 100 as you just did :)if you release a mod like that (i dunno where to put it atm) you should probably create a new waterbreathing effect as not to mess with the vanilla one, who knows what its good for...
Riain Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Yeah, somewhere, maybe the GECK wiki or the Oblivian version, it said that that function allows waterbreath if it has a non-zero magnitude. Seem kind of silly that they require you to give it a value when it is just an all or nothing type thing.
