nasapetapetalan
Fallout 3 was working fine until I fast traveled to Megaton. I had about 6 hours of play time on this character and about 10 total. When it loaded, i couldn't turn my character right and left, or up and down. I could use the right thumb stick for other things, like moving my map courser on the pip boy map. I went back to the main menu and reloaded. No dice. I loaded an old game. Same thing. I turned off my xbox and tried again. Nada. I Turned off my xbox and took off the hard drive. I started a new game without my hard drive and it worked. I put my hard drive back on and tried using a different account. It worked too. I went back to my old one and it still wouldn't work. I started a new game on my normal account and it worked then. I looked at every setting and reset them to defaults. It still doesn't work. This is as far as my troubleshooting has got me. I guess i could start a new game but I would like to know if i can fix my old one, and what caused it. Thanks in advance.
jaosals42
Have you tried other games on the same old profile since then? If you haven't, try it and if the same thing happens, then you'll know the old account must have truly been ruined. Otherwise, maybe it's hopefully a temporary event. The same thing happened to me once in Oblivion on 360, and it took days of waiting and heavy cleaning before it unfroze again. Maybe something with conflicting scripts in Bethsoft games, I dunno. It's happened a few times on PC as well. :(
Sangel2525
I have no idea. I originally had Fallout 3 for the Xbox, but wound up trading it in for store credit at Gamestop, once I got my new PC. Thus I got the PC version. I never experienced what you are on my X-Box version, but as a rule of thumb I saved like crazy even on my Xbox 360 version of the game knowing full well how glitchy Bethesda games usually are at launch. floggingmolly22
Probably isn't the solution you want, nor is it incredibly helpful:Scrap your old file. Its screwed. Sorry, can't help with any trouble shooting cuz you tried all the obvious ones.
Javalin
When first reading that, It sounded like a problem with your controller lol. Put a post on Bethsoft and ask them whats wrong with it, as far as diagnostics go, then those would be the ones to help you.
