Purple spray?

Birrii

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm having this strange issue. Pretty much randomly I've got this purple spray. It wasn't an issue before - only after I reinstalled my Skyrim game, this appeared. I have tried verifying the missing files on steam, but to no avail. Steam says there is a missing file, and that it will be downloaded, but appears that it never downloads it.

I was wondering if there could be a quick fix, without having to reinstall the whole game again.

Thanks in advance,

Birrii

So, this load order is a mess...

Your missing texture is probably caused by a mod lower in your order removing something added by a mod higher in the order...

Eg.

<This is my beautifull water texture mod>

<This is some random mod which has a problem and removes a water texture>

Outcome: missing texture

Besides that, how come there's an .esm file BETWEEN your .esp files (SPIKE.esm, ApachiiHair.esm)? that should not be...!

Some more issues;

UFO - Dawnguard AddOn.esp
UFO - Heartfire AddOn.esp
UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp

This order is wrong... the AddOn's are loaded BEFORE the main file... that should never be.

...

You need some Load Order listing software... eg. BOSS ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6 )

This is not the software to fix all issues, but the main ones probably. Please do take care because the outcome of the Load Order created by BOSS will have errors as well... eg --> for fact I know that RLO files will be in the wrong order and need to be manually adjusted.

I made some other post on this topic;

"Load order can also cause this problem... load your new home higher up in your load order... despite what BOSS tells you to do, it's just a guide line, use some common sense instead... Interior/Exterior environment mods need to go high up in your load order. See if you can follow this logic; go from BIG to small. Meaning; large objects come first (=texture changes) and small objects go last (weapons, armors, candle smoke). After environment changes put the lighting/weather mods followed by player mods (eyes, hair, etc) followed by scripts for better combat and whatever you have.

Example;

[MAIN GAME ESM's]
[ADDITIONAL ESM's]
[sKYRIM Unofficial patches]

[Mesh improvments]
[Texture pack 1]
[Texture pack 2]
[Flora pack]
[Flora extension pack]
[i love these extra trees pack]
[MyWater pack]
[My towns texture overhaul]
[My other town texture improved]
[This tiny mod to put a book on a certain table]
[Weapons 1]
[More weapons]
[badass armor]
[Lighting mod]
[Weather mod]
[big nasty evil eyes mod]
[smelly feet mod]
[Crazy real combat script]
[sign lalala whenever you enchant an item script]
[Jump around like a jellyfish killmove script]"

I've tried running BOSS. It didn't fix my missing purple spray texture. I did get some notifications though that some of my mods have "dirty edits" and that three of them have deleted my "NavMesh records". Could this be a clue as to what happened to my texture?

Navmesh is navigation for NPC's... should not remove textures.

For the dirty edits, I dunno which edits are dirty ... of course the offcial files ... that's well known ... any else?

As for your Water...

Put them like this in your load order...

They should go BELOW Realistic Lighting Overhaul...

WATER.esp

WATER Plants.esp

At the bottom of your load order.

If this doesn't help then reinstall WATER, when asked to overwrite anything - overwrite!
