Can't add custom voiced dialogue to unique NPC/actor

Recommended Posts

'Scuse me George, I have to take this.

Ahem.

So, the Creation Kit.

First real time dabbling with it.

In order to add dialogue for only one NPC to use, you have to create a GetIsID condition attached to that specific actor, which will then automatically generate a file location for their voice files.

However, when I set the condition, the CK is unable to create this file, even after I've recorded the [dummy] audio and saved the recording in the CK module. (This creates a Temp.wav file and that's it.) Without any conditions, it will work as normal (setting up subfolders for all the races/voice types) under a newly made folder named after the active ESP. But it goes blank when I try to restrain it to a specific NPC.

Any tips?

- I've tried making two unique actors. The problem persists with both.

- Creation Kit fixes is downloaded.

GUYS

THIS WAS MY PROBLEM

Problem: Didn't have a voice type set up for my actors, which you must do in the NPC profile under the Traits tab.

After setting the voice type for the NPC (in this case, a new type) file paths are being made correctly now.

Learn from me, future readers. Learn from me, lest stupid mistakes such as these be all for naught.

New issue:

When I try to generate lip files for the single line I'm implementing, no lip file is generated in the directory.

Additionally, when I overwrote my 'dummy'/placeholder recording with my intended voice file, and then tried to preview it in the Edit Response window, it didn't play the new file I overwrote the recording with, (based on the designated filepath/filename), instead continuing to play the recording, which it was taking from the Temp.wav file. I overwrote the Temp.wav file with the same voice file I overwrote the alleged voice filename this voice line was being saved as, and then the preview playback played the intended voice file.

Obviously, this is a problem as the CK .wav/.lip generators/locators aren't working as they should.

Any help would be appreciated, until I come across whatever goof I made this time.

EDIT:

EVERYBODY

Remember to ensure your voice tracks are in mono, not stereo.

That's it. Goodbye. Go home.
