I don't beleive this is a program, I believe this is something that is set up to screw your computer up.

 

A program has all the components need for it listed right on the same exact page not spread out having you run around without warning

 

This is way too fishy,

 

1) Why is there no information about the other components listed on page anywhere?

2) Why are there no direct links to the other parts on that page

3) Why do you have to install it to get this information

4) Why doesn't part 1 of the install finish before asking you for part 2, and on top of that why can't the other parts finish their installation without having to have the other parts

it doesnt need to tell you that you need these other programs cause its just totally logic (apart from the fact that it tells you that, just click velivs link or look in the readme)...

 

you dont buy a keyboard if you have no computer, do you? well you prolly would...

or to make it even clearer:

how many mods tell you that you need fallout to use em?

how many people tell you that you need a lady to utilize condoms?

how many people tell you that you need a rifle to use a bullet?

how many people tell you to eat if you want feel the effect of food?

how many tell you to inhale to make use of your lungs?

Blender is the software you need to make 3d models

the Nif plugin is a plugin for Blender

The NIF plugin requires Python

Python requires PlyFFI

 

 

its either that or you could get NifGmax : D enjoy your crashes.

 

 

 

Thinking about it though, you dont actually need to export as a nif in blender any way. You can export as an OBJ then import to Nifskope, no need for additional software then. I dont use blender any way, I use maya because its a much more efficient modeling program.

I like how almost every basic polygonal modelling feature that is present in every other program was absent from maya up until its latest version, and some are still missing, but only available via 3rd party plugins (NEX tools etc) hehe

 

Maya does have some sweeeet features though, like the ability to retopologize your wireframe in the UV Window where its easier to see... or a better 'frame selection' feature that slowly zooms in your camera, preventing users from being confused as to what area of the mesh the camera has snapped to, etc etc.

 

I love max, but im growing to love maya more and more as I use it, although I cringe when I try to use simple features that are second-nature in Max and find they arent even possible in Maya (like proportional uv-shell scaling with 1 button, saves so much time omg)

 

(btw not trying to start an argument vs maya, just figured Id comment lol :))

You should probably just give up and find something else to do.

 

If you get this frustrated and confused by simply downloading legitimate tools that you NEED, I can only imagine how you'll feel once you start using said tools.

I didnt read through most of the very long but im sure excelent replies but I can assure you what you expreinced is very normal

 

I use blender and can confirm it needs python to run, as I said there are many programs that need suporting programs(majority of which are made by other companies) in order to function, blender is one of them. You are not experiencing anything out of the ordinery or fraudulent, there is no spyware or virii in any of these programs, its all legit.

 

To get in on the maya vs blender discusions, there is no argument that maya is a better program, but who has 8 grand for a legit liscence? I personally love 3ds max but I wanted to go legit and start doing real work so i had to switch and teach myself blender as I dont have a rediculous sum of money to buy a comercial lisence. Blender, although more difficult and agrivating to use, is capable of some pretty amazing stuff, and its still continually being developed so who knows what the future holds. I just wish they would give it a real interface, i hate having to use 3 billion keyboard shortcuts.
