Drop armour/aparel problem

Hello all

I am experiencing a small glitch with my game at the moment. When I drop some of the armours, Apparel, Instead of there being a neat pile of clothes on the floor, I get a Red marker with a white exclamaintion mark in the middle. The items dropped showing these markers cannot be picked up again either. Strange, as it doesn't happen with all of them. mainly with the Blastmaster, Sadist and Azar's gypsy clothing.

I wonder if anyone else has or has had this issue and if there is a fix using the undermentioned mods clothing armour mods.

I uses the following mods:

Malos, Body replacer and Nude fixes (not using his other armour and dreses mod)

Azar's Gypsy clothing

Any help to resolve would be much appreciated.

I am having to continually save my game before dropping these items just in case these marker issues appear, having then to reload if it does. I may well end up witha wasteland full of red and white markers HEHEHE

Cheers

I think the problem you describe could be due to the the items not having a ground model associated with them.

For instance, when you make a piece of clothing you need a model for when it's worn by the character plus a model for when it's dropped on the ground, both referenced through the item's entry in, for instance, the GECK. If the item doesn't have the latter, it will just use the default "error" marker for missing meshes.

The reason you can't pick up the items or move them after dropping them, is linked to this issue as well as the .nif files for the ground objects also has a collision mesh embedded in them - this mesh determines whether you can interact with it in the world or not, so when the ground mesh is missing and is replaced by the error mesh (which doesn't have an embedded collision mesh as it's used for everything), it results in the objects becoming inert.

As for fixes, I have no idea if any exists yet but at least now you have a hypothesis as to what the problem likely is. I think the issue could be solved by adding ground objects to the malfunctioning objects such that the game actually knows what to do when the player drops the items on the ground. :)
