Lunarhound
I'd been playing a bit of Outward before I got into Valheim and there are just enough similarities between aspects of the two games that I sometimes think some Outward features would be nice in Valheim. One that I miss is tents. When you're on a long trip, it's both immersive and practical to have a lite camping solution that you can deploy quickly, then remove. So far, I've been simulating that with Buildshare. I built a small, simple camp site, saved it, and plop it down when I need it. It works well, but it'd be nice to have a solution that feels better integrated with gameplay. Something that shows up in the build menu, costs resources, and maybe has some other features to make it feel like a legitimate method of quickly clearing a place to camp. A few that I can think of: Craftable camp kits. Instead of carrying materials on you at all times, allow the crafting of tiered camp kits with different comfort levels appropriate to the materials used. These wouldn't require a workbench to make and the material cost of setting up a camp site would be 1 kit.Cooperative camp construction. Alternately, deploying a camp could be free, but once placed, it would create a container (using the same model as the campfire maybe?) that players could place materials in. Once the appropriate materials are inside, interact with the container to make the actual camp go up. This way, building a small camp is still cooperative but uncomplicated. No need to mess around with actual building. Instead, people just help each other gather materials and the building is automatic.Bottom line is that it would be nice if there were an option for a cool, immersive little camp site that fell somewhere between BuildShare's instant, resource-free camp deployment and the 100% manual route of having to spend several minutes putting together a comfortable camp just so you can recover your rest bonus or turn in for the night. I'm not a programmer, so I'm curious how possible something like this is.
