Mountain Clouds are not dissapearing when getting close

Hello,

I have an issue that I am not sure is really an issue. I seem to remember my previous modded playthrough not having so many freaking mountain clouds everywhere. They look great, but unfortunately, they don't seem to disappear when you get close, they sort of despawn only when directly walking into them, so I tend to walk through these fog walls once in a while which bumps me out of my immersion.

I am pretty sure that distant clouds remained distant on all my previous playthroughs, so it must be something with my current setup.

This is happening on SSE. I use Ethereal Clouds, which are probably not the source of the problem as it's simply a texture replacer, and Obsidian Weathers and Seasons. Obsidian has its own ini file. At first, I thought that fSkyCellRefFadeDistance might be a solution, but that only edits how far the clouds are rendered, not how close they should dissipate.

I have a feeling there is an ini setting I am missing. Do you have any ideas how to solve this? Any help would be very appreciated. My full modlist is below
