NathanC
So, what happend was. I tried to Update Skyrim, as well as SKSE to the latest versions. Long story short, it borked the game hard enough I had to re-install it as well as the mods. No biggy really. The problem is, now only one of my Character saves will crash upon it loading. I have four other characters, all which work just fine. But the one in particular(my luck the only one I really care about) will cause the game to crash when I try to load it. Be it from the main save, quick save, or any of the auto saves. At first, I thought this might be an issue due the all the mods I had installed. But, learned that wasn't the case by trying my other files. They all use all the same mods. The only note worthy game changers, being Deadly Dragons, and SkyRe. Is there anything I can do to save this save file? If there's any info I left out, please let me know.
Werne
That sound to me like a corrupted save. If so, there's no way to save it.
prod80
Let me get this straight... you have 4 characters, 3 work and 1 doesnt... The one that doesn't was the only one using the mods SkyRe & Deadly Dragons - but everything else was the same, right? SkyRe is not a small mod and has potential to destroy the world... but... Are you sure your load order is exactly the same and have you ran the ReProccer (+ possible patches to it for whatever armors/weapons you have) ?As for your Skyrim update - do you mean adding a DLC (like Dragonborn/Dawnguard) and have you updated SkyRe to the version supporting those DLC's? I'm pretty sure your save will break in a million pieces when you add a DLC and update SkyRe. You might wanna ask on the SkyRe thread if there is a possible way to fix it if this is the case. They all use'd SkyRe and DD, all four used those, and other(but the same set) of Mods. I don't think it's a SkyRe issue, as Dragonborn and Dawngaurd hadn't conflicted with SkyRe in the past. As for the load order I can't say for 100%, as I didn't check prior to the issue. Being as it was working and all. But I did make sure all ESM's went first, as well as generally big thing, followed by the smaller mods. But, I'll mosey on over like you said and do some asking, thanks for help. prod80
Well, if you didnt add DLCs or updated SkyRe there's is very little that can crash your game like that... SkyRe works best with all DLCs installed. However some things can mess up things good like a script which is executing when you made the save, but is now not there after a re-install (maybe there but not executing) also mods have lost memory about progresses and such but hard to say... If the save is broken, you might just try and disable mods, see if you can find the one causing the problems... perhaps you can work around it, if it's not too serious. There are some other risky tools to clean up saves which completely refuse to open on Nexus as well, but I have little (reads: no) experience with them;clean up scripts: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31675clean up random items: http://skyrim.nexusm...com/mods/31724/
NathanC
Tried disabling everything as well. I fear the worst. But, being as the save is as good as dead, I'm going to give said tools a try. What's the worst they can do? Once again thanks, I'll post if it somehow fixes itself. Otherwise, it's lost. But again, thanks for the help. Edited May 3, 2013 by NathanC
