cglucifer
Seem to be having the same issue as the OP. Quite the strange occurrence, as for me at least I've tried it on a couple different browsers with firewall enabled/disabled and add-ons enabled/disabled. I haven't noticed a difference based on file size, but then I probably haven't tried to download extremely small files, either. Also, at least it would appear, is an off-on issue as MMM downloaded fine for me at one point yesterday whilst FCOM is refusing to download for me today(or anything, for that matter). Doubt it's a coincidence that multiple people seem to have this cropping up, but as for what the connecting factor is, I can only guess, since I assume the DLs must be working for others here judging by the responses. At least based on the elderscrolls site this doesn't sound like an entirely new issue: How do I avoid corrupt downloads? Q. I keep getting corrupt or incomplete downloads. Why can't I download this? Can you host it somewhere else? Quick tips for a successful download: * Check free drive space * Disable firewall * Use a Download Manager There are quite a few very large mods for Oblivion, and a lot of players seem to have trouble downloading them. If you're having trouble downloading a large mod file, especially when the download consistently dies just before finishing, chances are that it's your firewall causing the problem. Temporarily disable the firewall, download the file, then re-enable the firewall. You should also check to make sure you have enough free space on your boot drive (where the temp file is kept during the download) and wherever you're saving the file. Using a Download Manager is also a very good idea, and may be critical for some really huge mods. (The following is adapted from Using a Download Manager by Monica21.)With very large mods, it's a good idea to use a download manager. Among some critical features like the ability to resume downloads when connections are lost, download managers also claim to speed up downloads by opening up multiple connections. The idea is that if one connection is good, then 5, 8, 10 or even 20 simultaneous connections must be terrific. This probably isn't really the case most of the time since the limiting factor is probably your connection speed. However, download managers are critical when attempting to download very large files. Some work better than others. Here's a few that work well: * Internet Download Manager * FlashGot * DownloadThemAll! Problem being that none of the proposed solutions work. On a completely unrelated note: How do I get the files to download with the DownThemAll! application? Works splendidly on the other sites I've tried, but it seems like the re-direct method for the servers that TES uses causes it to download an .html file corresponding to the re-direct page as opposed to the file itself. (And now for some reason the one-click method works. Gotta love sporadic applications. :wallbash: ) One thing I can think of is that I don't allow third-party cookies, but that shouldn't be a prevailing issue to any proper server architecture. Would be nice to figure out what myself and the OP have in common at any rate. Cheers. EDIT: It seems to be working fine now. Didn't change anything so not sure why. Didn't want to jinx it though so waited a while to append this post.
