Help a total noob out, game crash when pressing new game

Hello everybody,

 

let me start by saying I have never played skyrim and I just bought the SE and started modding with the help of a friend.

I chose a bit of mods, mostly visual, that I thought would be cool but I can't seem to get the game to run and my knowledge is nonexistent making it impossible for me to find the problem.

 

So I turn to you, my current list of mods is in the attached image, what do you think the problem might be?

90% of the time crashing when making a new game is from a missing master file. check your plugins on MO and see if there's a caution sign afer you sort your mods. if you hover over that sign it will tell you if you're missing a master file.

Thanks you very much for your help, I tried sorting from the plugin menù using loot but no warning was issued, apparently it's all ok, I also added all the tweaks that loot told me but to no avail.

If I try to start the game from the mod organizer through skse, even with all the mods inactive, I get a weird menu and when pressing start game I get a textureless dragon with the crash happening short after (this also happens with every combination of mods I've tried):

If I start the game directly through the skse64_loader.exe without using the MO the game runs as normal.

 

I'm not exactly sure what the problem might be here. Any and all help extremely appreciated.

Is your skyrim installed through steam or otherwise?

It's installed through Steam.

Are you running SKSE as administrator?

Also I see you have skyrim installed in your programs file folder, you should never do this as it limits and stops a lot of mods from working properly. Reinstall skyrim in a folder outside of your program files.

Yes, both MO and SKSE are running as admin.

 

I also tried changing the folder of skyrim to D:\SUSgaming (my hdd) while changing the paths inside MO to match the new folder but the problem persists :(

Since you don't have a lot of mods installed: try disabling them one by one until the game does not crash, that way you'll know which mod causes the issue.

I tried disabling all of them but the problem remains the same, which led me to think the issue might be with how I installed SKSE. However, if I start the game from SKSE_loader.exe without using MO, the game starts like normal (withouth any mod of course), if I start the game by activating SKSE_loader.exe through MO the game crashes with any combination of mods AND also without any mod.

 

So I'm really at a loss.
