That shouldn't be a problem because that is the NPC file, not a needed file if you place your own NPC's in. Least, that's how I understand it. Still gonna try it, though.

Ok...

Here's my new log. Still not seeing those companions o' mine.

P.S. Don't know how the bondage sex got in there... Think it might be part of a pose pack...

I put that adult bookstore in myself, though XD

Also in the meantime, instead of looking for the companions you placed, go to the waterfront shacks and see if you have some goblin companion named mumbles, or look for a Skeleton companion wandering around the cometary in front of White Tower.

Those two particularly should be pretty easy to spot, and will tell you if your master is working properly, at least.

Check:

  • You used the two main plugins for your edition of Oblivion, right? (Shivering Isles or Vanilla only etc like that..)
  • Again right from the Readme file:
    8. “I can’t find any Partner NPC’s ingame at all. Where are they?”
Please read the Readme file included with the mod. You have to activate the following files at the very least to have NPC’s in the game: CM Partners.esm, CM Partners.esp, and CM Partners NPC.esp. You can also add CM Partners More NPCs.esp which is a separate download. And you can create your own mod with custom NPC’s and add it also. And download NPC mods created by others.
  • Your load order looks really Weird to me. I've had 433 mods running together simultaneously with no breakdowns, and I'm obsessed with load orders. I tried BOSS and it completely screwed my order up, (not a problem I just restored my version), but I'm still trying to figure out why it's going wrong, but in fairness it didn't recognize a lot of my mods, and really strangely, put my beauty mod at the top of the load. Something I would never recommend for any beauty mod, and mine is a customized but well-known named mod. And it put Cobl hmm somewhere near the top and that one has documentation that specifically states "put at the end of your load", same with SeeYouSleep, states specifically to be loaded at the end, BOSS ignores that, I'm guessing out of ignorance, it's tough to read all the documents for all the known mods that Boss is trying to order. But it beats a blank when your load order looks as funky as yours does.
  • What version of CM Partners are you using and would you mind posting a link to it so we can take a closer look, to see if it's the latest.

Ok. I am reinstalling CM Partners so that I am sure I have the latest download. This is version

1.9.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7819

Still nothing.

Oblivion.esm

CM Partners.esm

CM Partners.esp

CM Partners NPC.esp

That's the load order I used.

Couldn't find any of the companions after checking inns or the waterfront. Sooo...

When I installed all my mods I used an archive invalidater. That shouldn't be giving me all this trouble, should it?

I'm stumped on this one.

Also, I'm still using vanilla Oblivion patched to 1.2.

Ok, for the moment can you verify that you installed the CM Partners.esm from the folder that is only for Oblivion? It's labeled "CMPartners - Oblivion_Only"

From the readme:

9. Two versions included: Oblivion only; Oblivion and SI. The Oblivion and SI version automatically detects whether OBSE is installed and uses the appropriate scripting.

Yep. Those were the ones. I did not copy the no invisibility folder over as I wanted my partners to become invisible if I used a spell or potion. The readme talks about it.

"If you don’t want your Partner NPCs to go invisible when the Player uses invisibility potions and spells, also copy the CM Partner.esp file from the appropriate subfolder marked NoInvisibility to Data Files and overwrite the existing file."

Some general thoughts on the problem.

If you are using vista, have you either installed in a different directory than the default or disabled UAC? Usually unless you do one of these no mods show up in the game.

I don't think CM needs OBSE, but it is probably a good idea to have it anyway as if you add a mod that does need it, it will be there.

If you are using the downloaded d2d version, it has problems with some mods, and OBSE will not work with it.

If you patched, be sure you got the right language version - there are 2 English versions, US and UK and they are different.

Ok. Interesting news on vista... I'm still using XP.

Since you mentioned it... This sounds like a patch problem.

I haven't seen any other mods in game... haven't really had time to look, but still pretty sure I put some in that should have shown up in some way or another.

I'm gonna go through, check the patch and if I'm using d2d when I'm sober. It's alot harder typing this with a headache than it is without it... XD
