xachan86
Well, I have tons of wonderful armour and cloths mods and a dramatical lack of slots on my mods list... ;) I know that TES4Gecko can merge mods and thus save lots of space, but despite the fact that i've read the documentation and made some tries by myself, i don't really understand how the merging process works. Let's say i have for example 4 armour mods i'd like to merge. What are the steps to follow ? I saw there is a kind of priority order to follow, but that's one of the points i didn't understand... Also, is the name of my merged mod important or not? Once the merging done, i can delete the original esps from Wrye Bash, right? As you can see, it's very basic questions, but i'm definitely a noob, so any help would be greatly appreciated !

If you only have 4 you're combining, you should be fine, but if there's a conflict, Gecko will tell you. So open Tes4Gecko choose the option at top left (merge plugins)Mark your choices priority "1". (create a text document and copy the names of the plugins you choose for your personal records)Click the OK button when you've made all your selections. Name the merged plugin a new name and name your text record document with the same name. Check inside your data folder to be sure the new merged plugin you made has the .esp extension. (lately mine haven't and I've had to rename them to include it, should look something like: "armor_merge01-09.esp" for example.)Open wrye bash, match the plugins listed in your document and either HIDE them or Turn them off (I personally would not delete them)Instead I leave them off but create a group label and group them together. Here is a recent example of what my Wrye bash window looked like, which shows the current number of plugins merged vs how many plugins are loaded, because I leave them in the folder. I only hide the ones I no longer use. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c117/SeaBlossom/Jan26.jpg

And I'm also happy to finally meet somebody who has more mods than me! ;) Can you tell me which kind of mods you generally merge safely? it could help me reduce further my Wrye Bash mod list... And I'm also happy to finally meet somebody who has more mods than me! ;) Can you tell me which kind of mods you generally merge safely? it could help me reduce further my Wrye Bash mod list... heh heh you're funny. I will say that the more you add, the more delicate balance you have and the easier it is to upset it. It seems like I spend hours now preparing my game to play, either because I'm making new clothing and armor myeslf, or modifying stuff, or just tracking down whatever knocked the balance off. I recently added ImpeReal districts and Arena Alive, and Ruin Tail's Tale, and something about the three of those doesn't like each other, so I'm trying to figure out what. It seems I can't stop tweaking pushing and prodding to make it look more beautiful. But to answer your question, I usually put my clothing and armors together in packs, and my weapons together in packs, and that has reduced my load over 150. (I have one with 84, and three others with maybe 20, plus my wrye bashed patch which has maybe 20 or so). You should make your Wrye bashed Patch first, I suggest, and then of course you have to rebuild it every time you add or subtract something to your load.
