I dare say the armour would rather suit European Commonwealth soldiers with the futuristic Germanic look, don't ya think? :P

Actually the suit of armour is European in origin. According to the backstory of the Manga/Animé/intellectual property it is from, the first suits of this armour was used by the Germans at the Battle of Stalingrad which consequently let them to their victory over the Soviet Union, and later allowed the Germans to occupy Japan (which is where the IP predominantly takes place).

So yes, it would rather suit European Commonwealth soldiers. :D

I've tried bulking up the chest, shoulders and vambraces a bit to closer match the reference model and tweaked the lighting such as to make the shape more discernible, as the lighting sometimes plays tricks on how one actually percieves the shape. Especially consider how the reference model would look under similar lighting circumstances when passing judgement:

Looking good, Baelkin!

Do you plan on adding the mask hose?

Yeah, I'm still thinking about how to do it and getting it to look somehow "right". It's a very iconic part of the armour, so I think not having it implemented, at the very least on a rudimentary level, would be a bit of a letdown to many people.

Honestly I don't think it will work without making a special rig in NifSkope, and even then it'd require a bit of re-designing to pull off elegantly. I'm thinking of making the entire hose rig a part of the mask file instead of the armour, which would the allow the "main" hose going from the mask to the doodad on the chest to behave as it should without having to do some serious NifSkope Wizardry. Then I'd just need to figure out if it'd be possible to rig the mesh such that it'd always have the ends of the two hoses going to the back stay in a fixed location. At least it'd look more elegant than having a hose permanently attached from the armour to the face of your character, something I doubt would be very popular. :)

amazing work!

I'll second the idea of making the hoses part of the mask so it looks like a functional device on its own, so that folk could use the mask on its own.

alternatively, the main body mesh could have the "main hose" affixed to a smaller breathmask that would be hidden if the player was also equipped with the mask. somewhat similar to how the new Chinese stealth armor has an attached helmet.

finally, someone above commented about making it a stealth type armor, it is actually intended to be the exact opposite: Obvious, Impervious and Scary. shame there is no "intimidate" stat.

:thanks:

Yeah, I don't get what the stealth hype is all about. This baby will have enough Big Guns and Explosives stat bonus that Liberty Prime will shake in his supersized robo-pants.

I can't quite recall if there's a NPC reaction which would indicate they are "scared", but I suppose it should be possible to attach a script which would trigger that emotive response from any NPC you speak to, as well demoralize any enemy you fight. That'd at least be a kind of pseudo intimidate effect. Could probably even base the magnitude off of your charisma or lack thereof. I have no idea how to make it though as scripting and programming isn't really one of my favourite subjects.

OH GOD FINALLY!

This is awesome!

9.5/10 for just the screens! cant wait till this is all skinned and everything!

as for intimidation, you could attach a trigger that lowers opponents combat abilities a bit and increases the risk of an opponent to flee.

Two questions though:

Will you be making an MG 42 (hopefully one that uses the minigun holding pose) after this is done?

and

Will any NPCs have this or will you just find it somewhere?

I reckon that instead of a pip-boy, if you wear the mask, you can use a sort of interface on that. prehaps get someone to script that in?

Lastly, I think you could keep the current officer uniform except change the flag and add an enclave-mesh hat (in the series the officers have a uniform and a hat as well as the mask) and make it that instead of bieng a Chinese special unit it can be a Japanese spy, a crossover story.
