Is this too complicated for a non-programmer to take on?

So I want to do the following, and having not looked at the G.E.C.K. yet, was wondering if folks thought it was something that I (essentially a non-programmer) should attempt.

"Easy" Stuff?

- Reset the time flow to 1-to-1 - Some mods have already done this. "Real Time F3" would probably be best choice?

- Reduce the number of PC Hit Points - I understand that the PC has more starting (level 1) hit points than human NPCs? Is that true? If so, I'd like it to be the same as any other human if there's a standard. Maybe connected to stats would be best.

"Difficult" Stuff?

- Water (or Nuka-Cola, I suppose) becomes a 4x daily (24 hour) requirement. This assumes that the PC requires a half gallon a day, which weighs ~4 lbs.

- Food becomes a 3x daily (24 hour) requirement. This assumes that each unit of "food" weighs about a lb. Might be too low, though.

- Sleep is a eight hour a day daily (24 hour) requirement.

- Lack of food / water / sleep reduces Strength, Perception, Intelligence, Agility and even Luck. It could also give that blurry vision that you sometimes get when you take a shot to the head in the game.

- Neither Food nor Water provides any hit point recovery.

"I have no idea if this is even possible" Stuff?

- Outside of Stimpacks, hit points are only recoverable through sleep / rest. I'm thinking 3 hit points recovered per hour but I'd like to connect it to Endurance somehow - like 1/2 the PCs Endurance every hour?

- You can go to a doctor to recover an additional 25 hit points for, say, 10 bottlecaps if you're in a rush / there's no safe bed handy. This is cheaper than buying/using a Stimpack, I think.

- Most significant communities have a reverse osmosis machine to provide purified water for a few bottlecaps. This might not be particularly complicated though since I suppose I'd just have to add a "water seller" to every community. Maybe just rig the RoboButler's purified water script in the Megaton house?

- Food, whatever the source, does not cause Rads. From what I can tell you can zap beef with gamma radiation all day long and it won't cause radiation poisoning. Too, I don't know how the scavengers / raiders survive day-to-day unless someones making Radaways and selling them at a significant discount to 'em.

Considerations

- I'd like some animals to provide a varying amount, and in some cases a lot of food. Like Brahmins and those bear things whose name I've forgotten - they should provide a lot more meat than some mangy scavenger dog.

- Food will all probably have to all be "worth" the same since there's neither hit point recovery nor Rad issues, yes?

- I'll have to adjust the cost / selling price for water somehow. Communities with osmosis machines will probably sell it pretty cheap - and wouldn't buy it, and others would be desperate for the "good stuff," though not to a level where the player can make truckloads of caps doing "water runs" using Fast Travel...hmmmm...

- I'll probably have to locate / tweak all the doctors in the game, won't I?

What do you think? Should/Could someone with essentially no skills attempt such a mod? The basic motivation behind it is that I find myself going back to Megaton all shot up just to avoid using a stimpack (I'm cheap) and sleeping for an hour then Fast Travelling back to whereever I was to continue the fight. I know that I could just stay longer at the house, but I doubt I will if I don't have to so I'd like to make it part of the game.

Too, I think that the water / food requirements and communities gathering around / defending reverse osmosis machines would be pretty neat. Might be able to tie some quests into it as well...

Oh, also, is there a way to remove a specific type of food from the entire world fairly easily? I really don't like that there are 200 year old packages of processed food lying around. I don't want to go through every worldspace in the game though. Speaking of which, I'd also like to remove all the bobbleheads too, now that I think about it.

I've looked at RI-Primary Needs and Basic Needs but they don't quite do it for me. RI-Primary Needs seems too focused around various kinds of water, though BasicNeeds is probably pretty close to what I'm going for in that regards.

Hmmmm...maybe a combination of BasicNeeds BottleRefill combined with Household Water Purifier? Not exactly what I'm looking for, but certainly along those lines. I'd like to require a lot more "dirty water" (like four or five) to get a single "purified water" though. I understand that reverse osmosis machines use a lot of contaminated water to get clean water.

I'm mainly wondering if the 3 hp/hour sleep recovery thing going to be a pain in the tuckus?

Anyway, opinions appreciated. Thanks!!!
