tx3000 if you are still having trouble use this map

Or the Fallout Wikia

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.

But I just want to point out that the link you sent me to the map is totally unreadable things with the above reply I tried zooming in and it never gets to an appropriate readable size.

Hmm that's odd it seems to work ok on both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 (with zoom) for me at least. Though I guess you could be using another browser / have an out of date flash plugin or if your using XP it could be something else (I'm on Vista).

I use internet explorer 7 with XP

and to clarify what i mean about Zooming.

Since you can't click on the map itself and enlarge it the only way to zoom the page in XP is to hold down Ctrl and then scroll forward using the mouse wheel.

But even then I still have scroll in really really far so it's about times 200% to even get a semi-readable text.

Perhapse the lack of instructions I always tell people to include with tings like this would stop a lot of the issues.

It's pethetic how the people who create these thing have absolutely no consideration about other people might have problems and never include toubleshooting aspects in case something like this happens, but what's even worse is that other people don't do anything to help once they know.

Then if someone that's having a problem with it and brings it up, they are the ones who are at fault and no one pays any attention to the cause of the problem which ws created by the person who posted the thing with no troubleshooting aspects as well as the people who know and do nothing about it to correct the situation.

And to top it off, people know that people don't do anything about it, and don't do anything about that either...and then this just goes in a circle with everyone blaming the person who can't get it to work when it's not their fault.

@tx3000: I've read a good half-dozen posts whre you've "asked" for assistance with a mod, or map, or whatnot...

There are a few unwritten rules (well, mostly unwritten, but I'm sure if you dug through various boards and online communities' rules of posting, you'd find many, if not all, of them typed out in easy-to-read, bullet-point outlined notes) about how to interact with others. These are the three that I find the most poignant:

1) Don't be a d...

Wait... Let me try that again.

1) Being polite while making an inquiry will lead to more people returning the favor in their replies.

You've starting every topic with a pointed purpose of complaining, or specifically detracting from the works of others. This doesn't ingratiate you with the rest of the community. They/We are here, not as employees of some massive company built around the concept of "the irate customer must be appeased", but rather as fellow gamers/modders that enjoy the world of this game and wish to see it either expanded or improved in some way (and each of us has a different view of what that entails).

2) Doing a little forward thinking and research will help in meeting Rule#1, and often can help in not needing to ask in the first place.

Just as there are Mod Descriptions and Readme files, there are comments for all posted mods for a reason. Many people can have issues, and several are resolved by other players just in comment responses. All comment posts on the Downloads page are actually here on the boards, so a search function is both viable and very useful in finding help on varying subjects or issues with specific mods or downloads.

3) "NEVER", "ALWAYS" and "EVERY" are to message boards as swear words are to conversations with your parents. (
You'd better think hard before using them in more than a couple sentences in a row, or be prepared to pay the consequences for your actions.
)

Blanket use of generalities is a good way to come across badly to those reading your posts. For each use of "never", "always", and "every" there will be a slew of people calling you out on your accusation. This does no good in finding solutions, and it just bogs down the boards with bloated threads that have no use, because the point will either never be reached, or the solution is buried in the metric ton of tangent responses.

Now... as to the above issues with the NoMutantsAllowed flash map:

At 190% IE7 zoom (accomplished via 'Ctrl-scrollwheel'), I can read the map fine on a 1280x1024 resolution monitor (the map fills ~75% of my screen). Prior to that, you can read the text the comes up at the bottom of the map window, rather than simply using the cursor popups, far sooner. I will admit that the flash window is very small for the map on their page, and I would prefer an option to open it in a new window, but Ctrl-zooming works in the meantime.

I'll consider the above points about posting to be said and done with... any responses regarding them will be a waste of time for me to react to. I've said my piece, and I hope I've conveyed the concepts in a way that is not insulting, but informative.

SangRahl

No offense but I read up to I need to be polite and then stopped reading

People like you do nothing but instigate the situation and I'm placing you on ignore because your obviously not grasping the issue and problems and how the problem is started by lack of instructions and or proper instructions not being left with people's uploads as well as bethesda mislabeling things in this game.

You can say it's me all you want to or you can come to terms that I have every right to get the way I am I don't really care, but the one thing will remain true.

Nothing you or I say is going to change the fact that what I said is the cause of the issue, and you probably will never grasp that. So you my friend are going on ignore, because someone like you cannot be reasoned with and will say anything and everything just to attempt to make me be wrong even with proof showing otherwise, have fun talking to yourself.

tx3000, I'm putting you on banned. I went back and looked at your previous posts and think maybe you should look into anger management. Every one was full of vitriol, contempt for other member opinions and flaming comments. If you had bothered to read the terms of membership that you agreed to before you began posting you would have seen that we do not tolerate flaming or trolling. SangRahl tried to warn you, but it was already too late. I was already looking at your past behavior.
