I think I have too many mods

I like mods.

I have my fallout game customized like I want it to be.

 

My game loads fine. I can look around, move, shoot, talk; whatever, everything looks, sounds, and works ok

, but about a minute or two into the game (doesn't really matter which save I try)

(usually when I enter a new cell)

my textures suddenly disappear (go pink, or in the case of blood decals, be huge red squares)

When this happens the firing sound of all guns do not work (vanilla or modded)

conversation is impossible

the ESC key does not work

saving or loading of any kind do not work

I have to quit the game using qqq

 

 

What is up with this cranky game?

I have 137 mods active

6.1 GB of stuff and it chokes already?

 

My Oblivion install still runs fine with 183 mods

10.2 GB of "stuff"

I just ran another playtru with it last month with only 3 ! crashes over the course of ~9 hours

maybe I should just stick with Oblivion, It works, and is customized exactly how I want it

 

yep that sounds like a good idea

I'm going to play a pacifist in oblivion (low combat skills, and let my army of companions fight for me)

should be interesting

I'm guessing that many of your mods are not compatible with the version of the game that you have. Just a first guess.

I also don't think Fallout 3 is really set up for a hell of a lot of mods and 137 is a crazy amount, many of which more than likely conflict with each other.

137? wtf? thats about half the nexus :V

sure there are some things that conflict, imagine a barbie house where you stick rooms and furniture of cardboard on it to expand it. sure it gets unstable.

 

PS: i would like to see the complete list of your mods, would make my day :V

Well, this certainly is not 137 mods... but it's still impressive.

Note: Not all mods are for use with the same character... I currently have a Science/Speech character and a Small Guns sniper.

And, there are a few mods that I'm keeping an eye on for when they're at a high enough level of completion to add them to the pile... heheheh.
