naxx06
Hi, So for the last couple of days I have been having serious amounts of problems with my Skyrim. I started modding it last month and now I have over 120 mods for it. Few days ago the game would just freeze mid battle with sounds looping, I'd have to ctrl+alt+del to close it. Then I started getting some stuttering while playing but it was manageable enough to play. Now in its final form, my game has been CTDing every 5mins or so. I have been browsing forums after forums for days trying to fix it, I used BOSS to optimize my load order, I used TESedit to clean my mods, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all the mods but I'm still crashing to desktop. I don't know what to do anymore. Here are my PC specs: Intel Core i7 3770 3.50ghzGTX 68016gigs RAMWindows 7 64bit Here are my mods (sorry im new to forum so I dont know how to use spoiler tags) Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmDragonborn.esmApachiiHair.esmRaceCompatibility.esmCLARALUX - More and Brighter Lights.esmLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esmSkyMoMod.esmSPIKE.esmTERAArmors.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espMoreRainWindy33percentLessView.espBetter Dynamic Snow.espImproved Combat Sounds v2.2.espLIAT - Sounds.espFootstepsSoundsOverhaul.espSkyrim Shadow Striping Fix.espStaticMeshImprovementMod.espStaticMeshImprovementMod-DragonbornTernFix.espBellyachesNewDragonSpecies.espChesko_WearableLantern.espDual Sheath Redux.espLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Climates of Tamriel - lvl-4.espLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Climates of Tamriel - lvl-1.espLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Climates of Tamriel - lvl-2.espLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Climates of Tamriel - lvl-3.espLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Climates of Tamriel - default.espLIAT - NPCs.espSkyrim Flora Overhaul.espConvenient Horses.espAuto Unequip Ammo.espFootprints.espFootprints - Ash.espRaceMenu.espRaceMenuPlugin.espWetandCold.espSkyUI.espCloaks.espCloaks - Dawnguard.esp1nivWICCloaks.esp1nivWICCloaksCRAFT.esp1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.espGhosu - Weapon Pack 1.esphothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espisilnarsil.espLostLongSwords.espMashupUNP.espTERAArmors.espDr_Bandolier.espMonster Wars.espwhiterun spruce by revan1199.esp360WalkandRunPlus-RunBackwardSpeedAdjust.espBabette.espGuard Dialogue Overhaul.espImmersive Weapons.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espdD-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.espaMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.espRealistic Lighting.espRealistic Lighting Patcher.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Illuminated Spells.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Dawnguard Interiors.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Exteriors.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.espRealistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.espPredator Vision.espDeadlySpellImpacts.espDeadlySpellImpacts - Two Fire.espFNISspells.espShowRaceMenuAlternative.espHorsemen Combat Enhancement.espThe Dance of Death - Ultimate Edition.espACE BYOG.espACE Speech.espACE Archery.espACE Armor.espACE Enchanting.espACE Magic.espACE Melee.espACE Smithing.espACE Synergy.espTheEyesOfBeauty.espTemptressVixen.espUFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.espUFO - Dawnguard AddOn.espAmanda.espLyla.espMichelle.espMisha.espCerwidenCompanion.espmoveitLWT.espgetSnowy.espWATER.espWATER Plants.espWATER DB Waves.espGreenWaterFix_Compatible.espDual Sheath Redux Patch.espRiverwood Reborn.espWindfull Skyrim.espThe Ningheim.espzzEstrus.espDeadlyMutilation.espdD-Dragonborn-EBT Patch.esp My BOSS logs are pretty much clean now except for UFO companion mod but no matter how much I clean it, it never changes. rhowington
RLO and COT are in the wrong load order. Run BOSS.
prod80
if you have modified uGridsToLoad in Skyrim.ini I would suggest to set that back to the default values; uGridsToLoad=5uExteriorCellBuffer=36 then create a new game (your old save game wont open) and see if you still get crashes. UgridsToLoad causes (can cause) many issues on a modded game, no matter what a beast of a PC you have, its still just a 32 bit application. Shredy777
I know opinions differ on this matter. But it's my opinion that RLO and COT do NOT go together very well. I had both of them installed in a previous installation and it was CTD mayhem. There is a tutorial somewhere on the net about how to properly combine those 2 mods, but I would really advice against it. Right now I'm using CoT and ELFX and it works like a charm! prod80
both RLO and COT authors say they are specially made to complement each other and are under suggested mods on both sides... I dunno... what to believe... mod authors or random website... mmmhhh :D anyway I run them for a long time with zero issues. I cant see as well how a lighting mod and a weather mod could ever crash your game
Shredy777
Uhm...when you go to http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802//? You can read that it's also a lighting mod. It will change the vanilla lighting of the game. If you also have RLO, which does the exact same thing, you can get problems.I had the interior lighting package of both RLO and COT installed and I had huge problems with the lighting switching on/off. When I removed the RLO pack this problem went away. Anyway, on the other hand, prod80 also knows what he is talking about. So maybe you should just try deactivating one mod at the time and try to find the bad guy that way. I know it takes a lot of time, I couldn't get myself to do it either and ended up with a fresh install ;) Right now I have a heavily modded Skyrim running perfectly.(With some minor issues ;) )
ripple
both RLO and COT authors say they are specially made to complement each other and are under suggested mods on both sides... I dunno... what to believe... mod authors or random website... mmmhhh  anyway I run them for a long time with zero issues. I cant see as well how a lighting mod and a weather mod could ever crash your gameThey actually all 'conflict' (RLO, COT, ELFX), because they edit some of the same imagespace, lighting records, and in some cases cell changes. You can also actually use all 3 but in the case of RLO and ELFX, it would be redundant because they overlap each other in so many of the changes that only the one placed later in the load order will work properly (basic CoT edits without the interior lighting changes should have minimal conflicts with RLO that it will not be noticeable). But in general, while conflicting edits from lighting mods (these and 'Relighting Skyrim') may cause all sorts of visual anomalies, they shouldn't cause CTDs. CoT is another matter, since it does use scripts to control the weather system. It's been a while since I've used CoT, but if CoT is suspected as the culprit in CTDs, those CTDs would be 'outdoors' only, in the worldspace. Since the OP didn't specify the location of the CTD s/he is experiencing (worldspace, interior cells, dungeons, etc.), it's hard to say if CoT might be the culprit. Agnusthemagi
Skyrim Project Stability - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32363Is what you need, try it, it fixed the same situation CTD near Riverwood every 5 mins. If havent already, set your sound card quality to 44.1 KHz 16 bits, highter than that gives CTD with Sound Overhaul.
MShoap13
Papyrus overload is also a possibility. I see UFO and lots of custom followers + Footprints, Cloaks, CoT, etc.. if you have modified uGridsToLoad in Skyrim.ini I would suggest to set that back to the default values; uGridsToLoad=5uExteriorCellBuffer=36 then create a new game (your old save game wont open) and see if you still get crashes. UgridsToLoad causes (can cause) many issues on a modded game, no matter what a beast of a PC you have, its still just a 32 bit application. To revert uGrids setting without bailing on your character, open the game and load your character, alt+tab out and set uGrids back down to 5 in the .ini, save the .ini and alt+tab back into the game, open the console and type "refini", make a new save game. It's recommended to exit to the menu and then load the new save you just made to make sure the uGrids change took without issues. naxx06
Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. As for COT i got rid of that long ago once i got RLO. What you're seeing there is Lantern of Tamriel COT preset, which I turned off and it actually stabilized my game a lot. I was still CTDing after 30mins or so, so I lowered my audio quality like augensthemagi suggested. I havent seen any crashes so far. My game is still stuttering but that maybe coz i have so many HD re-textures. I will keep you all updated.
