false savegame corruption

The situation you encountered is likely one in which local data and/or variables have gotten so screwed up (by whatever glitch) that the game can't recover on its own (ie, things happen like misidentifyiing valid saves as corrupt, or other potential symptoms like a massive slowdown in script processing that won't "fix" until you reload the game from desktop, etc). For instance, in my installation, one I'm battling right now is "the mystery of the vanishing third-person player"... but i digress.

I don't know of a specific mod that causes it. It could be one, or it could be multiple mods incidentally acting in conjunction, or it could be something else entirely.

I'd recommend you keep mental track of the symptom appearance and what you were doing prior. You might notice a pattern to "setup" for these failures and be able to avoid the worst of it.

example. You're anywhere near Bleakwood basin and see a huge floating island of junk in the sky, and you notice that you scripting is showing massive lag. Get the hell out of there and into a safe interior space for a few game days!

And for best response from the most savvy mod identifiers among us (not me!), I'd recommend that you post your mod list and load-order into spoiler tags so those with the skills and/or experience can evaluate the list Spoiler tags can be presented by using the green and white striped "BB code" dropdown just left of font chooser in the text editor... scroll down in the list until you find "spoiler", click it, then paste the content into its content window
