Close Background Programmes Mod

Hi,

several weeks ago I came across a mod that shuts down many of the programmes that are running in the background on your computer, including Steam, causing more resources to be available for Skyrim. But now I can't find the mod again! I went through my tracked files, I searched via categories and via key words, but no success. If anyone knows where I can find this mod I would greatly appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Yknuf

I don't know of any mod that does that as mods typically only work with the game itself and not other programs.

You may want to look into the FREE GameBooster or another 3rd party game helper program - here is a link - http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/razer_game_booster.html

Hi,

the problem with that game booster is that it doesn't seem possible to use it with SKSE. It identifies the default Skyrim launcher as the startfile.

Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

I think I know the mod you speak of it was taken down after the author was banned. ATTK Power loader I think it was called it does pretty much what Game Booster does and I think it does work with SKSE.

Thanks a lot for the info, BotOwned. Ashame the guy got banned. I looked into this ATTK thingy and it sounds promising. Now I just have to decide if using it is worth ~20 euros. Knowing my great desire for an awesomely looking Skyrim (and my not quite up to the task rig) I'd say it's rather likely I'll give it a shot.
