Weapon will not pick up

Thanks again for all the help.

I wonder should I try and use a power armor helmet maybe the Tesla one to paste this one? Its a centaur head, I will use it for the centaur spite ammo.

I'm rather surprised I got it this far.

Okay I spent a few hours cobbling this together it looks good could be better but . It looks fine but dose not stay together in first person mode, I doubt that it can be fixed tho. ><

ZippyDSMlee - Hello!

"and if you have time look at this I dunno what I did to it its crashing geck out ;_;"

Good news is you've almost got it right, see you are getting better at this. :)

Okay, simple problem with your:

shockingempSM-newmesh-nif-new

Open it up in Nifskope, remember when I said earlier that moved in parts tend to get renamed?

That's what's happened to you here, notice the top (BSFadeNode) is named:

SubMachineGun

Well, no other node should share the same name as the top BSFadeNode. If it does you'll get a CTD as soon as it appears in game.

Take a look at most of your new parts, they're almost all named the same as that top node (that number enclosed in [ ] does not apply to the name) hence your CTD's in game.

To fix it left click on one of the new parts, go down to the Block Details & click on the "Txt" next to "Name" & select a new safe part name from the list that comes up like:

SubMachineGun:0

Or you can even name the part something new, just so long as it's not the same as the top BSFadeNode node. SubMachineGun:0 counts as different to SubMachineGun.

Repeat that for each of those new parts named SubMachineGun.

That'll fix your CTD once all those new electrical transformer parts are renamed.

Additionally one of the electrical transformers you've added is named "Weapon", you'll notice that's hanging to the side when equipped in game if you leave it named like that as it's behaving like the main weapon body when animated. Simply change it like all the other electrical transformers to SubMachineGun:0.

I've made a fixed version but you should go through the process yourself so you get the hang of it. If you get some trouble still, just ask & I'll upload the fixed version.

Hey, that's pretty creepy/cool looking. :) Some kind of evil Raider hood made of a centaur's face. :)

Right, headgear is a little different & requires some special files called .egm to be custom created for them.

There's a good guide for making hats here:

http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Headgear_tutorial

The special tool it mentions, the conformulator, can be found here:

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/9360/?

Yes that's the Oblivion site, don't worry that tool works with Fallout 3 too.

You should be able to use that model you made along with the instructions to make it headgear.

SNIP

Okay so the main problem with the submachinegun is a naming issue with the transformer bits, ah okay the crashing really got me worried.

Ah okay got it fixed YAY!!!!!!!!

------------------------------

No I thought that for the sake of importing the head it would be better to use a helmet as a base, but it seems the shotgun shell box works fine.

----------------------

Oh so the reason the centaur is messed up is yet again a naming issue...I see

Got it working...put acouple more hours into resizing the head and junk......uuhhggggggg the head is still to big ;_;

Works best in 3rd person mode LOL

Great! You've got to watch those renamings on moving. :)

Oh! I'm sorry, I thought when you mentioned the helmet you were wanting to make this into

headgear! :)

It would make a creepy hood. :)

Now you've uploaded the weapon I see what you're wanting to do.

"uuhhggggggg the head is still to big"

Checked it out in game & the weapon works, what are you trying to change?

If you're adjusting the head size just do that in Nifskope. Right click on the head & Transform - Scale vertices, if you want it .9 smaller then change X,Y,Z all to .9 etc.

Looked about the right size to me, the only issue I could see is that you can look through the barrel if you go to 3rd person & swirl round to look at it. You've removed the bit that hid that.

You could try hiding that with a little disc down the barrel.
