Frost73ite
I'm having a problem with the A Return to Your Roots quest not indexing the number of Crimson Nirnroot. I thought that there may be an issue with the Crimson Nirnroot Markers mod, but when I disabled the mod, the issue didn't resolve. I'm looking for any possible resolutions to the problem. I hesitate to go through yet another round of troubleshooting mods.

The chest is found in the small building you see when entering Blackreach. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2244 If that doesn't work, go into the console and type player.additem B701A X (where X = the number of plants you want). anjenthedog
OR... load the garden everywhere mod, grab one using add-item (or collect one from wherever) and grow your own. although I finished that quest a long time ago (by normal hunt and peck tactics in Blackreach), I have a half dozen plants I grow at one of my player homes so I have sufficient stock for potions. Frost73ite
I looked around and found some codes specifically for the quest. The problem is that the number of crimson nirnroot doesn't index at all, remaining at zero. In this case, even manually indexing the number using command codes fails to update the quest. The only solution I found that worked was to use the command code to skip the quest stage. Even that was buggy, though since it didn't advance to the next stage, just recorded the collection stage as complete.
mcbarker
Did you try taking the nirnroots back to (Sarethi(?) Farm), even though the counter shows zero plants? I had this bug once years ago, and even though the inventory showed zero, the game completed the quest (as long as you collected enough of the plants to satisfy the conditions of the quest).
