Game keeps crashing.

Hi, i just tried to start playing skyrim again and it keeps crashing about 10 seconds after you run out of the inn that you jump to from the tower in the opening sequence.

The mods i have are:

Immersive Armors and weapons, SkyUi, cloaks of skyrim, apachiSkyhair and apachiSkyhair retexture, a better world map, project reality - climates of tamriel v3, unofficial skyrim patch, skryim hd -2k textures, skse, and skse working with steam (not sure if i need this one).

I also have dual sheath reduex, but its not installed correctly atm. It says something about activating an .esp file.

All are installed using NMM

 

Does anyone know what my problem could be. Thanks in advance.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that i didn't have all of the mod's installed yet when starting this playthrough?

Best way to get started with the troubleshooting process is to post your BOSS log (with the messages), including the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS if one is generated. Enclose them in spoiler tags so they don't clutter the screen.

Yup, that's the BOSS log.

 

1) Cleaning: download TES5Edit from the link in the BOSS log, follow the instruction on the page, and clean the plugins flagged by BOSS as containing 'dirty edits' (including the update esm). You'll need to remove identical to master entries as well as undelete/disable deleted references.

 

2) Maintenance: check for error messages such as this and attend to them.

Error records can cause CTDs, and are usually from plugins made with pre-Creation Kit tools. In this case, work on 'Weapons of the Third Era' has been discontinued by the author, and it has now been integrated into 'Immersive Weapons', so you do not need it. Uninstall WoTE using whatever mod manager you used to install it with (as to make sure the plugin and the meshes/textures are all removed). Also...

Update to the 'fixed' version of this mod or uninstall it.

 

3) Leveled lists: You are using a number of 'give more stuff to NPCs' mods that contain conflicting leveled list edits (e.g. Immersive Armour, Cloaks of Skyrim, Immersive Weapons). You should use Wrye Bash to generate a Bashed Patch which will automatically merge those conflicting leveled lists so they work nicely with each other (otherwise, some gears may not spawn properly on the NPCs).

 

There are a number of issues you noted which could be the cause of your CTDs. First, you mentioned you tried unsuccessfully to install Dual Sheath Redux. You also mentioned you are using the Skyrim HD 2k textures but did not indicate your system specs, so it's possible your system cannot handle it (post your specs). Either way, the best thing right now is to uninstall these mods, then start a new game and see if you can get past the Helgan tutorial without problems, so that multiple issues do not get compounded. Once we stabilize your game, we can then work on (re)installing those mods and getting them to work on your setup.

I have uninstalled better sorting and weapons of the 3rd era. And Dual Sheath Redux for now. After doing that it still crashed (is that what "CTD" means?).

I just went into steam and selected delete local content (after right clicking on Skyrim) then reinstalled skyrim. After this was done i started the game up and it crashed at the same point. After that i deselected every mod (on the NMM plugin tab) and started with skse and it CTD (i figured out what this means) again. Going to try launching normally now and see what happens. And it still crashes (this time while loading the save).
Would it be too rash to delete the entire Skyrim folder and start clean?

You don't have that many mods, so reinstalling won't take as long as other more heavily modded load orders. If you want to 'start fresh', follow this guide up to step 15. Then I recommend you test in game to make sure you can get past the Helgan tutorial without any problems running just the default game. After that, you can reinstall mods, but I recommend you plan out your installation order because it does matter in cases where mods contain conflicting resources (e.g. texture, mesh, or script replacers). Your system specs looks good enough to handle the HD texture mod, but I recommend you just stick with the Hi-Res DLC for now. You can try installing one mod at a time then testing in game, or maybe in small groups, then testing them in game. If you reinstall all the mods at once and encounter the same problem again, it would just make it more difficult to identify what the cause of the CTD is.

 

Did BOSS generate a list of plugins it did not recognize?

Ok i will try that. BOSS did not have a list of any unrecognizable mods that i could see. Thanks for all the help.
