Not to argue against such a mod, but afaik, once you're able to buy it and have purchased it, you can build Lakeview manor without adding a horse carriage if you want, and you don't have to own a horse either. So the biggest hurdle (in my mind) would be owning the property at level 1 (cash for materials or even materials themselves can be acquired via console or Additem menu)

good luck!

Just delete the carriage and horse in ssedit inside the worldcells. It won't f*** anything up.

That works if you happen to have accidentally added them while building the property, but there's no need if you haven't yet, since the horse-n-carriage won't be added unless the player chooses to add them. Same-ish for a horses (and the horse stall afaik). Don't want a horse, either don't get a horse in the first place or kill the one you're stuck with. (nothing against horses, I like horses, I'd like to be able to ride a horse from time to time, but I just can't stand how you can't "get rid of them" or stop them from fast traveling with you)

Maybe if I ever start a new game. At this point (overall) I'm fine with cross country on foot. Horses can be "problematic", for instance if you accidentally open a menu while seated, where the horse starts flying around once you return from the menu or map, or journal, so there's another reason I tend to avoid them

good luck!" --- Yeah but thats waiting for lvl 10 and ruining the mission and buying it .... where if i use altstart and

with the immersion i am looking for with frost that removed fast travel and i use shadowmire after i destroy the DB ... i would just love to start at lakeview with the 1st part of the house done before the main hall .

You should install convenient horses, that way you can tell your horse to stay and just summon it whenever you need it.

--- i have it lol i am 100% roleplayer and frost and camp fire , i need ,

Please don't get me wrong. I think it's a cool idea to be able to get it prior to level ten... My point was only that you don't need to add the horse and carriage in the first place, since it's an optional build, nor haul a saddled horse there for riding. In fact, if I'm not mistaken (could be on this one) I don't even think you need to build the horse stall.

PS> my "good luck" wasn't a snide dismissal. It was an honest encouragement.

  • 3 weeks later...

Why does it have to be Lakeview? Is it because it is on the lake? You want to build it in phases?

'Live Another Life' alternate allows you to start in a vanilla based farm (added by the mod) located near Rorikstead.

  • No horse required or offered.
  • There is no construction to do.
  • It is in a fairly central location to many holds.
  • And there are two NPCs who work it for you so you can go adventuring.

What do you think?
