MDCapua
Ok, I'm new to modding, and I'm having a problem with my mods. I modded Fallout 3, and instead of the items, I get large exclamation points showing up. I figure that its something in the coding, so I need some help. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. P.S. I notice that the installation instructions state to put the code in the data\directory. I get to data, but Im not sure ifthere s supposed to be a directory that is it. Also, the mods state pipos 26 or something like that. Info would be appreciated. neunen
definitely check out this thread and follow the links firsthttp://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=96431there are a few others around as well the exclamation points are there because the nif files are not where fallout is looking for themall the meshes need to go into \data\meshes\correct\sub\folderand the textures need to go in \data\textures\same\sub\folder im not exactly sure what you are saying you changed, but have you extracted the meshes and textures with the .bsa extractor to start working with them? as for pipos 26 im afraid i have no idea what that is referring to without context... sounds like an icon for the pipboy though... just a guess
SpeedyB64
Sounds like you are having issues with file location. The mod should have come with an .esp a textures folder (if it has textures) and a meshes folder (if it has meshes) All you need to do is place the textures, meshes folders and the .esm into your fallout 3 data directory. Also make sure you have binvalidateolderfiles 0 in your fallout.ini (located in your my documents/my games/fallout 3 directory. and only that directory!) and that you set it to binvalidateolderfiles 1. There are lots of threads in here about this stuff.

Lingwei
doh! i just reread this thread and realized he was talking about adding mods.. i thought he meant he was modding his game with the geck I've come across some mod users before who call themselves "modders" because they use mods. MDCapua, don't call it "modding Fallout 3" unless you are actually creating a mod. Call it "adding mods to Fallout 3" to avoid confusion.
