BamaThunder316
I was wondering, is there a console command for showing form IDs for weapons, armor, etc. Example: clicking on a container and typing in the console command "showinventory" like in the game Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas. TheRomans
Do Not know about any for clicking on a container, but there is an excellent mod, FormID finder, that adds a scripted fuction that give you both form IDs for an object and other info as well.http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16704/? BamaThunder316
I downloaded it and tried it, but it said that I had to have OBSE. I don't use OBSE, so that mod didn't work for me. Sorry.
TheRomans
OBSE lets you into a lot of wonderful mods. I suspect its script extensions may be necessary to do what you want done.
BamaThunder316
I've tried to download similar programs, like the FOSE, (Fallout 3 Script Extender) and NVSE (New Vegas Script Extender) but when I tried to install them, it said that it wasn't working right...and I had placed them in the correct folders, but I don't know how to make the OBSE_loader.exe point to my Oblivion Launcher shortcut, so I can't run OBSE with my Oblivion game. DrakeTheDragon
You put all the DLL files and the "obse_loader.exe" coming with OBSE into the exact same folder your Oblivion Launcher and "Oblivion.exe" is in. That's it. It knows where Oblivion is, as it is at the exact same place itself is. It will not start the launcher though, just the game. If you need any features from the launcher, start the launcher, do your stuff, quit it, and start the OBSE loader to run the game afterwards. However, there are causes for your OS to forbid any such actions to happen. That's why it's always instructed to configure the "obse_loader.exe" to "run as administrator" in the compatibility settings for the file. It won't hurt doing the same for the "Oblivion.exe" either. If it then still won't be able to launch the game, the UAC made it so you installed OBSE's files into those fancy compatibility folders instead of into program files. In this case only a move of Oblivion out of the over-protected program files system folder can help getting the game and most mods to run correctly. It's especially getting difficult with Oblivion from Steam. Steam's default location is inside program files as well, so the same UAC and "run as administrator" file access permission issues and solutions apply. And to make Steam use OBSE you must not use the "obse_loader.exe" but turn on something called Steam Community Ingame or whatever for Oblivion in your Steam and make sure the Steam loader DLLs from OBSE reside at the proper places, then Steam will automatically launch OBSE next time you start the game through Steam. The OBSE documentation contains comprehensive install instructions to that matter, also for Steam.

BamaThunder316
Ok, I downloaded the OBSE and I loaded my FormFinderID mod that I also had downloaded, but I am still not getting anything when I press ALT+Right Click. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong. Can someone tell me what it is that I am doing wrong?
