i'm having a bit of trouble getting the one you gave me to line up. i did find this one here thats large enough to just use it for each piece of the armor and just line it up. what do you think?

first test of multicam. it has a lot of work left to be done to line everything up right. male armor is a lot harder to do than female. i'll probably make the texture a bit darker. 46% opacity now. probably bring it up to around 55.

sorry the image is smaller. should be 1280x1024 but imageshack is forcing resizing of my images. going to go set up a flickr account or something. imageshack is pissing me off.

It looks good. I agree with the male texture. I've been working on a texture set for them as well and it just seemed like the male one took longer to separate the carbon fiber stuff from the armor.

I've been working on a new helmet texture. I can't stand the butt-crack looking mask.

If you want the PSD for it with the separate layers: Mask

I'm going to revise it a bit since I don't like how it wraps to the top. I plan on angling it down.

For the multicam I think all it really needs is tan honeycomb between the plates instead of the black that really stands out. And that orange tape does look a bit tacky...Good work so far, though.

As for the helmet, could it be made transparent, but with a dark tint?

@sumoftwosins: Thanks for that. probably will use it for the full armor.

@r4y30n: my thoughts exactly. got part of it working tonight though it requires A LOT of work to make perfect. i was really surprised at how good it came out. but nothing lines up lol. going to take a while for the multicam. digital is so much easier lol.

And this is the new helmet i'll be modeling for the armor. The stealth armor looks incredibly close to the default human armor in mass effect and i always loved the helmet design in it so i'll be modeling that over the next week along with a gauss assault rifle to go with this armor pack. the armor pack will be released on it's own and then the gun and helmet with armor pack and possible quest later along with any and all requests for textures.

I'm planing on making both versions of this with just the visor and the full cover version.

You guys are good.

I had no end of trouble separating the mesh from the solid plates on the male chinese stealth armour, esp since the colours are so close. I wasn't as patient as you guys though, got fed up with colours bleeding all over and just used a dark overlay on everything.

Does any kind souls out there have a psd with the layers nicely separated and is willing to share?

@shaikujin: once i finish getting mine perfect i'll give it to you. though what i did was just create new layers over the original textures and then apply textures over that. it's the easiest way to do when the colors are so close. takes MUCH MUCH MUCH longer. especially in the evil male version of this armor but it can make it look a lot nicer.

And now after way to much work full multicam stealth armor. still not finished as there are 2 seems that don't line up and part of the crotch is not camo for some reason. and luckily i was able to keep the honeycomb texture as well. i think it looks pretty damn good.

i'd say i'm about 90% through with getting the full armor camo perfect and fixing all those non smooth areas. glove and helmet are going to be done after since that will be a really quick job.

Also i wanted to post an image of all the camos that i will be making. Each version will come in a Full Camo and Camo+Nano designs. unless someone asks there will be no combination's other than the one i first posted. as i've already said each one will be it's own item and be located in the operation anchorage rewards zone. I will be releasing all of the armors when they're finished and the new helmet and gun will be coming later with possibly a quest. (big IF)

Unfortountly won't be finishing this tonight just taking WAY to long to get the seems lined up good. back is impossible to line up perfectly so i'm working out something else.

anyway now heres all the camos i will be using. these are the exact textures

Solid work yet again.

NeoK, do you use blending options with your layers? It looks like you did opacity over the mess, or multiple. I tend to separate some areas of the textures, specifcaly what is being left alone. I use layer blending for blood, dirt, and everything else. I did a video tutorial for some other texture work but I can't get the damn video to look decent under 800 megs. It is about to drive me nuts.
