carpenihil
Hi! How does one setup DynDOLOD to ignore a reference and not generate LODs for it? What specific rule settings would do it? I've been looking around the manual but not been able to figure it out myself. This is an attempt to deal with the bug where some tree LODs fail to unload up close. Thanks! Helmsmasher
Remove the billboard files. But this is not a solution to your problem. Are you using this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75269/? it is recommended to have this mod installed. You must have a mod that f*#@s up the lods for you, try non-visual mods before running dyndolod, run dyndolod, check if the lods are working, then start re-enabling your other mods in batches of 5-10 and see if the bad lods reappear. Also make sure your skyrimprefs.ini files are setup properly, consider deleting them and remaking them (load the original skyrim launcher settings to remake them)

I should've specified that the issue is not all trees or even all trees of a particular type (a base record), but specific tree's, even within the same mod. For example, recently I've found a couple of spiky grass with LODs in JKs Skyrim after running DynDOLOD, but not all spiky grass has that issue. From what I understand of the DynDOLOD manual this is a game bug that happens sometimes and I figure one option would be to not generate LODs for those specific references that cause problems. Helmsmasher
Well you can disable the problematic mods before running dyndolod, that way they won't be take into account when creating lods. But again I do not think this will solve your issue it will just give you imperfect lods which will create a new problem: Plants and trees popping in from nothing.I personally don't get any lod issue, if I do usually it is because the game somehow thinks I am in a city cell while I am not or vice versa. A quick relaunch of the game usually fixes this issue for the remainder of my session.
