tyokio
I remember being able to combine meshes to create new uniforms, so I wanted to try this out for Fallout 3. I took the top half of the Wandering Merchant uniform and the Lower half of the Doctors uniform and Stuck them together to form this. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/MERC.jpg I kinda feel slightly ashamed that I didnt make the models/textures myself but this was certainly a healthy excersise to get a working uniform into the game. also I cant seem to hide the gibs at the moment, cant work out why. still wandering if I should release it though, seeing as I didnt make the textures and the model. unless some ones allready done this and has done it better then I have, then I'd probably just download that one lol. Shame on you for not making it 100% entirely by yourself! hehe kidding. :) Im under the general impression that if game companies didnt want their assets toyed with they would release it for a console instead :)ie. Dont put your stuff in the frying pan unless you want it to heat up :) Pretty cool mish-mash there btw, although i can see the bloodied dismemberment textures on top of the clothes heh
tyokio
yeah I was trying to hide the dismemberment but I can seem to find out how. I sorta feel like it was the easy way out lol, but I can make up for it by attempting a full body model some time... should draw up some designs for that some time. but like I said, this really taught me the do's and donts of rigging a new armor which are things I can easly apply to a fresh model. I can say one thing though.. rigging for this is far easier then rigging for oblivion D:.

Havent looked into skinning armors yet, but thats coming up very soon for the Bf2142 armor sets... so maybe I should look into it now... did you use any tutorials you could point me towards? tyokio
not really, I pretty much worked it out myself using 3dsmax. I can write a step by step of what I did if that helps : D

I can write a step by step of what I did if that helps : D That would be awesome - we don't really have anything incredibly detailed on the subject around here, so if you could make a somewhat step-by-step'ish guide, with the steps described explicitly, I think a lot of modders would be really happy. :)
tyokio
Well I've written a tutorial so far for it (its very long) I've have 2 completed parts of the tutorial so far... 1: Combining Pre-existing meshes 2: Combining the Textures into 1 and Arranging the UVs in max I'm working on the following parts 3: Rigging and Exportation. I also created images along the way showing the process. When I finally finish it, where shall I post it? Edit: Part 3 is completed.
SpeedyB64
A rigging tutorial would be awesome! I have never found a good one (even on google  )
tyokio
actually... I take that back. Rigging for fallout 3 is just as hard as I remember it being in oblivion.. if not harder D:
