Snaykew
I was wondering if there was any way of merging mods together perhaps through GECK or something? I looked at the FAQ and tried looking through the actual GECK wiki provided by Bestheda to no avail. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places but I figure this is a good place to ask. SpeedyB64
I need a good definitive answer to this too. and also on a similar topic: how do you convert an .esp to an .esm?
jsnider193
I thought FOMM lets you convert an esp to an esm .. sure saw an option to do that there, yah it is under the SPELLS option .... Combining ... were a couple discussions on this on the Bethesda forums might want to search there ... GECK allows some of it but it isn't straight forward. I use FOMM for this .. open 2 windows and cutnpaste between changing IDs before paste (gets to be a pain). In geck if I recall (someone should be able to explain better then me) changes made in a non-active esp are saved to the active esp ... but only what you changed if I recall correctly, i.e. what don't change doesn't move over. SpeedyB, you might be able to make better use of this info as it refers more to .esm conversion. Also, If anyone finds out, or knows how to do this, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that a step by step post would vary helpful and apppreciated. SpeedyB, Iv'e read meany of your post here and have to say Iv'e learned quite a bit from the info you have given us all. You kick butt man! THANK YOU. Really looking forward to Sin City. Dragarr
By playing around with the GECK I found it is almost as easy as Mattlock737 makes it out to be, just very tedious. Open all the plugins you want to combine but do not select any of them as active. Now is the tedious part, you must go through and make a change to every custom file from each of the plugins, then close the edit box (to save the change) and make sure that this row now has a * in the count column. Now reopen the edit box and change it back, the asterix will stay. The asterix is what flagges the file to be saved by the GECK. Once you have finished all the files hit save, enter a new .esp name and you are all set. In ten minutes I went through and merged 3 plugins. 4 weapons, 2 armour sets, 2 helmets and a ton of custom scripts and effects.Over 200 individual files all in all. I hope this helps. If there is a faster way of doing this I would love to hear it. You also have the option of using FOMM and manually copy/ pasting the files from one esp to another. Much faster than GECK but if there are incompatibilities in the files you will get a CTD as soon as you load the game.
