it is doable... at least to some degree.

If you mange too catch a bit of what the game shows you in console, there would be no problem to at least do something that shows percentage number based on what has been loaded through what the games says in console.

 

So you know that when the game start loading this and that kind of files, it has come this many percent of the fully loading an area (or otherwise).
