Bloodlust666
Now, I am not getting them when loading my games, but at random (about once every hour or two; sometimes more frequently when exiting buildings) the loading screen will never end. This is pretty obvious, as my system loads them within a second or two usually. So, I decided to make sure my saved games weren't too large in file size. They're not - around 6,000 kB.. but I noticed something really strange. Instead of one file for the save game - there's three of them. (save game).ess(save game).ess.bak(save game).skse The .ess and .ess.bak are about the same in size, and the .skse is always 5kb. The autosaves have those three, and my hard-saves have one .ess and one .skse Is this normal, could it be causing the strange loading screens? Here's my mods and load order (I also have the Skyrim HD 2k Texture pack - official Bethesda one is not-checked in NMM; I have also cleaned every necessary mod with TES5Edit as according to BOSS): GameMode=Skyrim Skyrim.esm=1Update.esm=1Dawnguard.esm=1ApachiiHair.esm=1AOM.esm=1JSwords.esm=1Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esm=1SkyMoMod.esm=1SPIKE.esm=1HighResTexturePack01.esp=0HighResTexturePack02.esp=0HighResTexturePack03.esp=0Chesko_Frostfall.esp=1SkyrimURWL.esp=1TradeBarter.esp=1AOM.esp=1Cannabis.esp=1CannabisUpdate.esp=1Chesko_WearableLantern.esp=1genpeople.esp=1Immersive Battles.esp=1Immersive Brigands.esp=1Immersive Dawnguard.esp=1Immersive Factions.esp=1Immersive Mercenaries.esp=1Immersive Patrols.esp=1Immersive Travelers.esp=1Immersive Werewolves.esp=1SkyMoMod Extras Collectables.esp=1Chesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.esp=1DYNAVISION Dynamic Depth of Field.esp=1IMAGINATOR - Visual Control for Skyrim.esp=1IMAGINATOR - MCMenu.esp=1RaceMenu.esp=1RaceMenuPlugin.esp=1SkyUI.esp=1BDYEB.esp=1Cloaks.esp=1Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp=1hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp=1Troll Hunter Armor by Hothtrooper44.esp=1JSwordsDistributionBalancePlugin.esp=1MVSSII.esp=1LOTR Shield Pack.esp=1RedguardKnight.esp=1IA6npc01.esp=1Monster Wars.esp=1Venator-Daemonous.esp=1Immersive Events.esp=1Four Slots for Enchanting .esp=1UnechantedItems.esp=1Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp=1Headtracking.esp=1Hypothermia.esp=1Immersive Weapons.esp=1dovahkiinrelax.esp=1Enchanting Freedom.esp=1The Dance of Death - Dawnguard Edition.esp=1UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp=1UFO - Dawnguard AddOn.esp=1Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1rcrnShaders.esp=1Purewaters.esp=1PurewatersDG.esp=1Bashed Patch, 0.esp=1getdrunk.esp=1 (unchecked and has been removed but still shows up in this .txt file; not NMM) Edited May 13, 2013 by Bloodlust666
prod80
it's normal and never ending load screen are mostly related to too many mods (namely high/ultra high res textures) loading when your system resources are out... Are you having also this symptom; when starting a new game, and you are exterior... all is smooth, you walk jump, do what you want... no issue at all. Then you go into exterior world (building/city/dungeon) and it's still great, but as soon as you go back to play on the outside performance has dropped, and sometimes you even save+quit and reload the game to get back smooth gameplay? I think you are overloading your system...When you combine High res textures (2K, 4K versions) + many other goodies and perhaps an ini tweak or two (uGrids, shadows, distances) you will be experiencing load screen hangs... I cannot see your complete config, but when I was battling the same 3 things (perhaps 2 for you) fixed it for me;1. I was playing with uGridsToLoad=7 in skyrim.ini and had all the other goodies tuned up as well... I changed back to uGridsToLoad=52. I had a few 4K textures installed, I have changed them to 2K or 1K versions3. I run ENB... so that's my 'maybe applies to you' thing... and when using 'Image based lighting' you should also enable the FIX called 'Ignore load screens' to save up a bit of memory. I have since completely disabled Image based lighting as the performance impact is big and the result is minimal HTH
Bloodlust666
I don't have any performance drops upon going from exterior to exterior world and then back out again. Everything's normal. In fact, I can enter and leave most buildings without performance drops or anything like that. Last time it happened to me, I was exiting Belethor's shop. Time before that I was leaving Solitude Jail, and the time before that I was entering Drelas' cottage. I don't know about fast travel, though, as I have it disabled in a mod. 1. Haven't touched .ini or Prefs for anything except camera adjustment (camera doesn't move in third person when unsheathing).2. I am using the 2k pack but had the problem before using it.3. I don't use ENB. Can't stand it. Imaginator / Dynavision do all I need. So I dunno. My rig:AMD FX-8350 8 Core 4.0GhzAMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB x2 (Crossfire)8 GB RAM DDR3 G.skill RipjawsWindows 8 Pro x64 I always run FRAPS when I play, could that possibly have anything to do with the infinite loading screen? prod80
Don't know... I just do know that if Skyrim runs out of system memory (tops at 3.2GB as it's a 32-bit application) it will CTD or hang... the same goes for VRAM... when it's out you can expect stuff to lock up... Can you check if the load screens hang on points where there is an automatic save point just outside/inside? In that case try and completely disable automatic saves and use manual saves instead. I have also noticed a few times that 'A Quality World Map' (with or without raods) causes load screens to hang... It has no esp I believe so I cannot see if you have it installed... Bloodlust666
I'll try turning off the autosaves. I'll report back with that after I play. Hopefully I won't have to report back for a while. And I have no map mods installed. Being that I don't fast travel, I also try to never use the map. Plus I've put so many hours into Skyrim I pretty much know where I'm always at. Edited May 13, 2013 by Bloodlust666
Bloodlust666
Turning off Autosave completely fixed the problem. I have two hours of game-time without any problems now. Thanks, never would've thought to disable autosave!
