anthony1991
Hello all I'll keep this sh ort and sweet. I'm new to the mod community and I wanted to download a couple of weapon mods. What I am referring to are files that I would be able to add into my fallout folder so that I could add these new weapons into the game. I downloaded the file for one of the weapons (M1911), extracted, copied into the data folder, checked off the data files, but then when I go into the game they don't appear. I read the readme and it gave the exact instructions that I just listed so I'm clueless as to what to do. The readme said the weapons would be in doc mitchell's house but both are not. Please help me out! Thanks so much.
doubleDizz
Hey mate. Unfortunately due to lack of additional information (no offensive, I mean none), the only assumption I can make is that you loaded a save file that was created prior to you adding the mod? Try starting a new game and see if the weapons appear. Some mods won't appear on existing saved files, not without a bit of work on your end anyway (but that's a lot more complicated.) Let us know if that fixes it. If not, come back with more info about the mod and we'll see what we can do.
anthony1991
Wow I'm an idiot. That's exactly what I was doing! So basically if I would like to use mods it would be best to load all of em up before I begin a new game correct? Thanks so much for the reply! anthony1991
The mods are the Colt 1911 and 9A-91. They can both be found on the FNV nexsus front page.
doubleDizz
I suggest using the NMM. A lot of modders write "don't use NMM use FOMM" but I've had no problems with 90% of the mods that say that. Remove these mods from your Data folder, load up NMM and add them in the MODS tab then double-click them to "install" them (you'll see a tick). Then switch to the PLUGINS Tab and check them there. On the right-side of the application will be panel of information. Make sure your mods have all their required "Masters" mods. These need to be installed and higher in the load order for this mod to function. If this also doesn't work: each mod on Nexus has it's own forum thread. You can find it via the Nexus Mods section in the orange buttons. Open the forum post and use the search function at the top of the page, search "missing" or "can't find". If it's a proper bug you're most likely not the first person to find it.
anthony1991
Just did everything you said, still doesn't show up although it's a loaded game. I'll try a new game. Everything is installed and checked off, and no master mods are required (at least it doesn't say so in the readme).
doubleDizz
ah, I didn't write you have to check them in the plugins tab as well. I'm guessing you tried that though. If it doesn't work on a new game I can't help you anymore. I suggest the actual files' forum thread, the answer is normally there.
anthony1991
Still didn't work, I made a post under the guns comments.
