After getting the quest from Gerdur in Riverwood, I completely skipped over Whiterun and ran directly to the Winterhold College for mage training. When I returned to the Whiterun front gates, nobody was there. No guards, no nothing. Now I cannot enter Whiterun because there are no one there to open the gates. Is there a command code that can bypass it? P.S., I have no mods that deals with guards, Whiterun or the quest itself.
BrotherBob Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 You can unlock the door with console commands. After hitting the "~" key, target the gate, and enter the code "unlock". Alternatively, you could add the appropriate key to your inventory via console commands. It is called "Whiterun Gate Key". On a side note, this key is held by the Companions seen fighting the Giant at Pelagia Farm, as well as the guards at the front gate.
