Anyone willing to voice a skeleton?

Hi, I have this follower I want to try to release as a demo, the problem is, I need him to have a voice - I started doing about three myself, but let's just say - my place isn't really set up for sound recording. There's about eight lines - if your interested, I'll post them up.

 

You'll also need to do your most undead voice - looking for something like a whisper with lots of wheezing. Trying to make him sound as uncomfortable to talk to as possible - like talking to someone on their death bed. You can use any file format you choose, sound recorder, audacity, etc.

hi man, your companion / follower sounds inturesting

i am curious though, what is your approach for the audio?

do you intend to rip an existing mp3 file for example and fill in some of the gaps with recorded dialogue of your own, or are you going for the full dialogue recording?

 

are you using any voice alteration software? its pretty easy would reccomend using some

Well, for right now, I'm using mp3 versions of the wav files used for the creature sounds. I had tried to use sound recorder myself, but it didn't turn out so great, and I hadn't really finished putting together the right dialogue I wanted for him. Now that he's nearly done programming wise - (I have to snip some code from the dog I'm working on that uses a more fine-tuned system that I'm really excited about since it eliminated a ton of bugs that plagued me for so long), I can start thinking out his dialogue. I haven't really considered using voice alteration software, but it seems like a really good idea to go with.

Great, always good to come across a non cm partners companion mod,

and personaly the "skeleton who talks" was a companion i have thought about a dozen times :smile:

below I have some fan questions if you could be bothered

 

is the story a secret? let me guess a revenge story? some horrible person/creature killed him and he is roaming around with mixed feelings of fear and revenge about it?

Is he a runaway necromancer experiment? Do you have to feed him soul gems or else he will "loose his soul" and become out of control skeletonwho attacks you?

or is he like a polite skeletal gentlemen with manners that would be fun lol

 

I assume you will make an armor for him to wear at all times (since there is no skeletal body for npcs) something ultra rusty, or decaying sword lituraley "melting" in the rust and some black gore-ish stuff wich adds poison dmg to it

 

im gonna make him a king of this place when you release him lol

The thing about Edmund, is that hes an actual Skeleton. He's using this talking creature system I've been working on and is going to be the first mod I release using it. I've added some stuff to make him stand out, but you can talk to him like a regular person. I also added some swimming animations from the character animations into the skeleton folder so hopefully, he can swim.

 

While I don't want to give to much away, he is a bit of experiment and if you want to get him as quickly as possible I'd suggest you find the Caldew Chapel so you can fast travel there. He won't be in the Chapel per say, but that place is going to play a role in getting him as your companion.

 

I think I'll be releasing it without the voices, but if anyone still wants to try voicing him, they still can after its released (and have access to his actual lines).

wow that sounds epic, dont beleve ive ever seen a mod that does talking creatures :D looking forward to release

 

about the voiced dialogue:

what the hell how about I try out how i sound using various voice altering software, if I get anything worth hearing, will let you know...

 

just send me the script and your idea of how he should talk... also a video example would be nice if you could find something as comparrison
