Metioic
The quest auto-fails no matter what when completed. And I tried to to search for a fix but all I found was lots of and lots of fixes it for appearing in non-Dwarf Noble Warden journals. Is there a mod that allows to succeeded in the quest if you're a Dwarf Noble? Because it's one hell of a depressing quest to auto-fail
Mykel12345
You can use this fixpack: http://social.bioware.com/project/2563/But keep in mind that if you use it in it´s entirety, it may cause conflicts, because it was meant to work with older versions of the game. A much more recent mod that fixes bugs in dialogue and quests is ZDF: http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/928/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D928%26preview%3D&pUp=1 , but i don´t think this includes the noble birth quest (check the readme to make sure). What i did is to use Ejoslin´s mod, and then cherrypick which fixes i liked from Quinn´s mod, if you are familiar with the game you can do this because Quinn explains in the readme exactly which files fix each thing, and that is very helpful. ZDF is a more recent and generally better done fixpack, but some fixes are missing and are only available in Quinn´s mod. I don´t remember if the noble birth quest is one of those or not. The simplest option if you only want the noble birth quest fix and nothing else, is to download Quinn´s pack and find the file you need to fix the quest, and use only that file. This way you avoid any compatibility problems. I hope i was able to help you. Edited May 21, 2013 by Mykel12345
mcgoy
I won't be held to this, BUT if I remember correctly Quinn's mod is installed as a dazip while ZDF is installed in the packages/folders I don't remember/override folder. If that is true ZDF should override Quinn's Although, I will note that ZDF isn't compatible with all of the dialogue fix mods and (if I recall correctly) has instructions on which files to remove for compatibility purposes. Metioic
Thanks for the help but don't those mods just fix the dialogue mistake and remove the failed quest from non-dwarf noble journals? I'm looking for a mod that actually fixes the auto-fail and makes it possible to succeed for a Dwarf Noble :/ Does that exist?
Thandal
I've played-through as a Dwarf Noble at least twice, but it's been a while. (Prefer the Commoner story, so am more familiar with that one.) Don't recall any quest-related issues or hiccoughs, much less any failures. Can you provide more information about the glitch you've encountered? And identify any mods you're already running? Metioic
The mod i indicated before does what you said. I'll give it a try and see what happens, but it doesn't say that it will do that in the description. I've played-through as a Dwarf Noble at least twice, but it's been a while. Can you provide more information about the glitch you've encountered? And identify any mods you're already running? The issue is that no matter what you do, the quest auto-matically appears in your codex as a failed quest. No matter what you do or what Warden you are. The mods here fix it so it doesn't pointlessly appear in your codex if you are not a Noble Dwarf. Which is a good fix. However if you are a Noble Dwarf, it still automatically fails the moment you put Harrowmont or Behlen on the throne. No matter what you say or do. Even if you give Mandy 1,000 gold and demand Harrowmont takes care of you kid while he promises that he wil, it still immedately fails because It's flagged to fail. I'm looking for a fix to that. Not currently using any mods other than skip the fade.

None had this quest, failed or otherwise, in the Journal. (I switched from a Win7 to a Win8 machine early last year. My other two-dozen playthroughs are on the Win7 box.) Thandal
Glad you got it sorted! I've been running with Qwinn's FixPack since it came out, so I don't think I have a single playthrough or know what things look like without it. ;D
