Wisdom of the Ancestors - Discussion

>ears perk< Hope this works. This is my first RP thread, so please bear with me.

Name: Jharret

Race: Khajiit (currently. In reality he is the result of the souls of fifteen Lilmothiit warriors being compressed into a black soul gem, which was then forged, along with the warriors' magically fused canine teeth, into the necklace his current body must always wear. He has no idea that he is really the pendant on the necklace.)

Gender: Male

Age: unknown, appears to be about 17

Appearance: Black fur with jagged orange/gold markings on sides of face, blaze(strip up forhead but not to the top of head), backs of forarms, backs of last joint in legs, and two Vs (one on top of the other, >> sort of) pointing down his back (tops of one behind shoulders, tops of the other just below last rib on either side of back), deep blue eyes with gold flecks. The jagged orange/gold fur on the backs of arm and leg are grown out three inches further than the rest. Grown out neck fur almost to mane appearance. Wears a kilt, bracers, and greaves(only on shin, no protection above or below) all made from sabercat pelts with steel fittings, and a pendant that appears to be a black chrystal with a strong blue glow. Double-bladed broadsword acrost back, right shoulder to left hip, and has an exceptionally bushy tail for a Khajiit.

Skills: adept with Double-bladed sword (double broadsword or short bladestaff) both attack and defence, apprentice with broadsword defence, high-level apprentice(almost adept) in light armor, fast and fairly acrobatic (agility-based warrior class), a novice storm mage (knows sparks and shock cloak, can only cast shock cloak once before running out of magicka, he is only a novice), can cast healing(will restore damaged fur. he cannot progress any further in Restoration because most of his restorative abilities are contained maintaining his current body), an apprentice level smith(can forge steel and some elven and improve to exquisite) and a novice enchanter(only basic fire and shock damage/resistance as of yet).
He is a werewolf, though the 'gift' affects him differently than most, because of his unique origin(he keeps his mind, most of it, his emotion is under much less control in this state though).

Equipment: steel double broadsword, sabercat fur kilt, bracers(gloveless) and greaves, all with steel fittings(very light armor), a steel dagger, a pendant made from a glowing blue chrystal and unidentifiable canine teeth on a very thin, fine steel chain(really the necklace is him, though he doesn't know it), three potions of minor healing, a potion of stamina, a potion of minor magicka, a large chunk of preserved venison(about 2 weight units), two lockpicks, and two septims.
Homeland: Skyrim, a long time ago, though.

Personality: curious, strong-willed, and intelligent, though often seems haunted by nightmares stemming from his violent and apparently very painful origin. Has a hard time giving up, and his natural ferocity makes him a bit of a hothead. He is often lonely, though he tries to hide it. He has an innate fear/distrust of mages (but not spellswords or dabblers, it's generally the robes and the snobbish attitude that irk him) because he instinctively knows of his deaths at mages' hands. He is still learning current languages, and often has trouble communicating. He will often lapse into a strange, archaic dialect that sounds like a mixture of Ta'agra and ancient Nordic.

Background: He barely remembers anything. The process that the mages of old used to compress fifteen warrioir's souls into a black soul gem and then forge it into a pendant has almost completely erased his memory (memories?). As mentioned, he is really the pendant, though he has no knowledge of this. Apparently he was tossed onto a random Khajiiti adventurer's body when a someone was looting a thalmor corpse. How he ended up in that particular justiciar's pockets is a mystery, but apparently the thalmor agent and the Khajiit had killed each other in their fight. The body, in response to the massive amount of energy it was exposed to, regenerated, and took on the fur markings of the amalgamaed soul(s?) within the pendant. The body served as a catalyst to fuse the soul together, and thus Jharret woke, knowing only his name, an ancient language, and his current skills. He forged his weapon and armor at a nearby abandoned town (the remains of riverwood), leaving the gold from the adventurer's pockets as payment for the ores he found in the smithy. He now wanders north, hoping to find out what on Nirn is going on and where his skills would best be used.

>ears perk< Just clarifying here; the two towers with a thin bridge over the river that I described in my post was/were Vaulthume. I was trying to give the idea that the bandits who often take residence were already taken out by the Thalmor. It looks like Jharret is a little ahead in tracking. I am looking forward to meeting your characters in future posts. Hope this helps.

Yeah but they don't know that, usually it is fortified so if the Thalmor took it out we wouldn't know quite yet... it's fairly common, one group will come in and wipe them out and take over then get removed by another group or imperial forces who then abandon it and it gets occupied by bandits once again... it would be likely to change hands, but then again it isn't my RP so the status is ultimately left up to the majority.

Just so you guys know, Gwenaelle is never going to be introduced. I couldn't think of a way to get her into the storyline. Also, Okuras will be killed in the next fight, as I just can't get into her character.

I will be bringing back two old favorites to replace them, though...I'll get the sheets up ASAP.

Hehehe. I'll be posting a char sheet as well. It's an old favorite character that is tied rather inexplicably with Auri's. ^^ I'll have it up tomorrow or so. :D

OK, here's sheet number one!

Name: Velanya Therys

Race: Dunmer

Gender: Female

Age: 281

Appearance: Velanya has burgundy eyes, nearly purple, and mahogany hair to match, slightly streaked with silver. Her skin is an even, pale gray. She is fairly short for a Dunmer, only around 5'3''. She has a petite frame, and an angular, yet pretty face.

She once wore a tattoo of the Imperial Dragon over her right eye, with the upper wingtips just below her hairline and the tail resting immediately below her high cheekbones. However, when she joined the Penitus Oculatus, she had this tattoo removed, as it made her far too recognizable. There is a brand of a crescent moon and star symbol on her left palm, which she always wears a glove to hide as it somehow cannot be faded or magically taken off.

Her hair is waist-length, but she usually wears it in a twist or a tight bun at the back of her head.

Skills: Blade, Hand-to-Hand, Destruction, Restoration, Heavy Armor, Block, Athletics

Equipment: Velanya's armor is her Legion uniform - plain Imperial steel that she keeps polished to a brilliant shine. She never equips a helm or a shield. When out of uniform, she usually wears a pair of black leather breeches and black doeskin knee boots, with a loose white blouse and a black vest. Sometimes she wears her Penitus Oculatus garb, but only on official occasions.

Velanya's favored weapon is a Vvardenfell ebony longsword named "Frostfang." The weapon deals cold damage on strike, usually resulting in moderate frostbite wherever it hits.

Homeland: Skingrad, Cyrodiil, though her family is from Blacklight.

Personality: Reserved towards strangers, fiercely loyal to the Empire (its people, not the Council), devout follower of the Nine Divines (yes, NINE), nostalgic concerning her membership in the Blades. She can have a dry, sarcastic wit at times, enhanced by her time spent around Caius Cosades. She is a strong leader and a confident warrior, but she also has a level head on her shoulders.

Background: Velanya Therys is a Dunmer Crusader from Cyrodiil. Her parents were of minor Redoran nobility, and moved from Blacklight to Cheydinhal early in their marriage. They eventually moved again to Skingrad, and it was there that Velanya was born. She joined the Imperial Legion at age 25, and has been stationed in both Elsweyr and Black Marsh. She was relocated to Vvardenfell when she was 32, at the rank of Champion. There, she was stationed first at Hawkmoth Garrison in Ebonheart, then Fort Pelagiad, and finally Fort Buckmoth. Upon reaching the rank of Knight Errant, she was released from permanent duties at the garrison. She still answered to her commander, Imsin the Dreamer, but she had the freedom to roam all of Vvardenfell unless orders were passed down from the Knight of the Imperial Dragon.

Shortly after this, she joined the Blades under the command of Caius Cosades. The Spymaster led her to Fort Floodgate in the Ashlands, where she was reunited with her cousin, Adrynn Indarys, and where she also met a ragtag group of adventurers and legionnaires. Together, they worked to cure a Mehrunes-Dagon-influenced Nerevarine and ousted the Mythic Dawn from Mournhold. The group then followed the fanatical Daedra worshippers to Cyrodiil, where they were too late to stop the Emperor’s assassination – though they did stay around to help close the growing number of Oblivion Gates.

After the Oblivion Crisis ended, the group parted ways, and Velanya remained in Cyrodiil. When the Great War broke out and the Blades were disbanded, she was inducted into the Penitus Oculatus. She has stayed close to the Imperial Palace as a bodyguard for both the Emperor and the Elder Council for roughly one hundred and fifty years. However, the growing threat of the Aldmeri Dominion, the Elder Council’s caving in to the White Gold Concordat, and the recommencement of the Great War has left her ill at ease.

Ok guys, here he is!!! He may be recognizable to some of you. (And sorry for the long history, there was a lot to cover) ;D

Name: Adrynn Indarys

Race: Dunmer

Gender: Male

Age: 283

Appearance: Adrynn has long, shoulder length black hair streaked with grey usually kept braided to stay out of his eyes or in a low ponytail. For the last century and a half, he's worn a close cropped beard that, like his hair, is speckled in grey. His face is aged and weathered from many years spent in the sun and wind. Smoldering red eyes are set deep in his head. His skin is a dark ash grey, like most Dunmer. He is tall (about 6'2") and his frame is lean, muscular, and defined, though covered with a multitude of scars from decades of fighting. A jagged scar crosses his left cheek, from his ear to his lips. The House Redoran crest is tattooed on his right shoulder blade, surrounded by Ashlander tribal designs. Azura's Brand, the Moon and Star mark of his Daedric patron, is imprinted into the flesh of his left palm, placed there by the Prince herself. Though he may appear as spry and agile as he was, an encounter with a rogue Dremora many years ago has left him with a limp. He curses his aging body, though his restorative magicks helps alleviate the aches and pains.

Skills: Blade, Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, Block, Heavy Armor, Smithing, Athletics

Equipment: His main weapon is a Vvardenfell hand-an-a-half ebony longsword with a fire enchantment with a matching ebony tipped black leather and wood core scabbard to store it in. He wears the sword on a wide, black netch leather sword belt with silver buckles. He also carries small, wide bladed ebony dagger usually tucked into his boot. He wears a full suit of reinforced Gah-Julan Bonemold Armor without the helmet and a Bonemold Shield, usually slung around his back. A heavy black wolf skin cloak lined with fur is usually worn when its cold enough to warrant it. A small silver and ruby ring given to him by his wife on their wedding day adorns his left hand. A set of soft dark leather leggings and a simple crimson and black tunic with a pair of soft netch leather boots are in his pack for traveling around without his armor. He also carries a sturdy but simple leather pack for carrying his food and other gear.

Homeland: Blacklight, Morrowind. (Was Vvardenfell, Morrowind until the Red Year)

Personality: Adrynn is usually quiet and introverted, what some might call brooding. He chooses not to speak unless he sees there is something to be said, which unfortunately sometimes is quite often. He is honest and blunt, and cares little if someone likes what he has to say. He has no reservations about fighting or taking a life if he needs to, but takes no pleasure in it. He has seen enough bloodshed in his near three centuries to last him many lifetimes. He is respectful to those he meets, but can be arrogant and hot headed at times, though nearly two centuries of constant warfare has changed the once brash and reckless Redoran into a more cautious and calculating warrior. Experience has taught him this lesson harshly. He values honesty, honor, and loyalty in others highly but does not tolerate a liar.

Background: Adrynn is a loyal member of House Redoran, holding the rank of House Father.

200 years ago, he lived on Vvardenfell and ran the stronghold of Bal Isra to protect the road from Ald-Ruhn to Maar Gan. But, destiny changed that as he was caught up in a struggle that shook Vvardenfell to its core. He took part in the fight against the uprising Ashlanders and their mysterious leader. He reunited with his long lost cousin, Velanya Therys, and helped assemble a ragtag mix of adventurers and legionnaires to root out this egnimatic leader, who turned out to be the corrupted Nerevarine, his mind lost to the power of the Mysterium Xarxes and its creator, Mehrunes Dagon. Adrynn and his companions managed to capture the Nerevarine and take him to Azura's Shrine, where he was cured and went on his own path.

Meanwhile, Adrynn with his companions followed the Mythic Dawn to Mournhold, then to Cyrodiil as word of the Emperor's assassination spread. When the Gates of Oblivion opened, Adrynn did all he could to stem the flood of Daedra into Nirn, even though the fighting in Cyrodiil prevented him from returning to Morrowind when Ald-Ruhn was destroyed by the forces of Dagon.

After the Gates were closed, Adrynn returned to Morrowind to find his home gone, his wife slain, and his will to live broken. He exiled himself from House Redoran, seeing that the once Great House was scattered. He then spent the next five years traveling Tamriel and making a name for himself as a mercenary, before hearing of the fall of Morrowind to first Red Mountain and then shortly afterwards, the Argonians. He returned to find refugees everywhere, and helped in the exodus of his people to Blacklight and to Solstiem. He stayed in Blacklight for over a century, helping to rebuild and strengthen the armies of House Redoran after the horrors of what had happened. He watched with pride as the House rose to lead the Great Council, though refusing to become a Councilor himself. He did for a time lead the Redoran Guard, helping them become the fierce fighting force they are well known for today.

When news reached him of the Aldmeri Dominion declaring war on the Empire, he joined in the fight against the Thalmor, knowing it was all he could do to keep Morrowind safe. For if the Empire fell, then Morrowind would soon follow. After the signing of the White Gold Concordat, Adrynn forsook the Empire and what it had become, and returned to Blacklight and House Redoran. All of his fighting for the Empire seemed to all have been for nothing, it seemed. The Blades, those eyes and ears of the Empire, and the group he had unwillingly been forced into joining long before by Caius Cosades himself, had been shattered by the fist of the Dominion, and all members declared outlaws. That suited Adrynn just fine, as he had never really liked being a Blade to begin with, though he did sympathize with his comrades who were forced into hiding.

While an uneasy peace settled over Tamriel in the wake of the Great War, Adrynn finally claimed his right to be a Councilor of House Redoran. This was met with some resistance from the other Councilors, as he was well known for being unpredictable. Not to mention he had refused so many times in the past. His affiliation to Azura also made them wary, though the Archmaster, with the backing of the Reclamation Temple, stepped in and approved his Councilorship. While on the Council, Adrynn did what he could to ease the burdens on the Archmaster and personally took tasks from him, as in being the Redoran representative on the Great Council. But, after only a decade on the Council, the politics and squabbling among the other members caused Adrynn to step down and renew his adventuring life.

He is one of House Redoran's most trusted emissaries and does those tasks most are either unwilling or refuse to, enjoying the familiarity of a traveling life.

Well, I hope you guys like him! :D
