Followers are not saving

When I save my game and reload the save any companions I have revert to their original state - starting inventory, location and so on as if I'd never met that companion. The same thing happens with Monet (Tag_Lady_elf1.esp), Carrie Irrietie (Carrie.esp) and follower from Romance_Follow_v10E.esp. Any ideas on why this is occuring?
