RaisingThersites
Hey All! I'm looking to replace the instruments played during the idle bard animations (flute, drum, lute). I have created a few stand-ins from the original animobjects, but I'm not quite sure how incorporate them into the animation itself. Is it creating a new animation by copying an existing one but somehow swapping out the model? If so, where and how? Here's to give these guys some more fitting instruments: Edited May 4, 2021 by RaisingThersites
maxarturo
You either create and import a whole new idle into CK. Or You edit the vanilla idle animation, but this will affect ALL instances of the idle animations in-game. Whatever path you choose to go, you can't do it in CK, all of this requires to work the animation on external programs, plus it's not easy to write it down on a post how to do it. RaisingThersites
Doh, I suspected as such! As I do not want to replace the vanilla, I'd figure I'd copy the idle and replace the model of the instrument- but I don't know how one edits idle animations (longshot- this couldn't be done in Nifskope?)Thanks for the reply! maxarturo
Nope, you need a 3d program like 3D Studio Max or a free to use (not professional) Blender. Plus you need to find a tutorial to guide you through it if you don't know how to operate them and insert the 'New' animation into the game engine, if there are any out there... Good luck my friend. HeirOfTheSeptims
The other option is to cheat it. If you make your new mesh the right shape you can equip it as armor and have it completely cover the original mesh. I've done this with the mining animation, and it worked reasonably well. Though it does require you to make your new item in the correct footprint to cover up the old mesh, so I don't know it that will work for your design. Animations are hard, faking it is easier
