I used Nifskope to convert to OBJ, edited in Blender, used Nifskope to convert back. Now I have junk. I've no idea what I am doing.

Are there any good tutorials out there that would help me with this?

I just want to chop a bit out of a mesh.

Import the obj to blender. Scale it down to 0.1. You'll probably see its rotated on the x-axis by 90 degrees. Change that to 0.

The model should be upright now.

Do your edits. Don't forget to separate the mesh by material, if multiple are applied. [edit: Note: if you set Blenders resource path correctly and unpacked the textures, you should be able to see and edit those too]

Export to obj again, using scale 1.0, Z axis up, Y axis forward.

Import to OutfitStudio, export as nif.

If its a static, convert the shapes to BSTriShapes, delete all the (empty) materials and copy back the original. Copy that to the original nif file and delete the original mesh.
