Could shields have their effect permanently ?

Hi there.

Shields seems kindof useless to me, but I'm thinking that if they had their effects permanently and not just when blocking at the right time, it would be pretty cool ! Just have to raise it for it to work, simply going throught zombies with the shield up !

I sounds doable, but how, that's where I'm lost.. Looked for the shields in inventory files, I was hoping to find their "effect trigger" or the "counter attack time window" or something along those lines, lol. As expected I didn't had much success !
