A few mods to make the gameplay much better without too much work

Hello there, I was wondering if someone could make the following mods:

Compass & map

Journal menus

Reasonable enemies

Compress item animation

Now the first one - I don't see how a 3D map really fits such a game at such an era, so I would like to have a mod where every time you press M your character would go into 1st person mode and look at a paper map at his right hand, and a compass in the other, the main problem however would be putting the icons on the map so focusing on the player icon is much more important if your going for this, and also I think it would take a map for each province.

As for the second one - it's pretty self - explanatory and pretty simple as far as texturing goes. And replacing menu skins isn't too much of a problem, so please make this because it would make everything look like it's recorded in a journal.

The third one - This one really bugs me, for example I have no problem with bandits wanting to obliterate me on their own territory. But, when I'm in a situation where I'm fighting draugr alongside a bandit, I would like for the bandit to recognize the fact that as far as bone walkers go (or any other non-human), we're on the same side, so don't kill me cause I've just helped you! (maybe there could be a dialogue that would make us fight afterwards)

And for the last one - it bugs a lot of people that you can shove huge items such as dragon bones down your tiny backpack (or down your pants if you don't have one), and also that you can pick up things or move doors just by looking at them with your Batglare... So I have decided that in a world of magic, everyone knows a small bit of spells, so they have telekinesis which would explain the moving. However as for the item-shoving, I think there should be a little spell animation in your hand like *poof!* every time you pick something up, showing that you have shrunk it but kept its mass on you hence explaining the carry weight limitation.

I know that some of these are somewhat complex, and if someone chooses to do one of them or a part of them, it would be a great addition to Skyrim, so I'm willing to help as far as coding goes because I know my way around C# (or C++, practically the same) so please consider it, also share this with your Skyrim buddies so that the word would be out!

Long live modding!

P.S

I know about the scouting mod which gives you a map, not really what I'm looking for :P.

I also know about the "A Quality World Map" plugin that makes it looks classic, it's nice but still 3D and it makes my mountains yellow >.>

The map is a nice idea and quite easily doable I'd say; and as you already pointed out, the only problem would be fitting 200 markers on a piece of paper the size of a map. I can't really see a way around that.. unless you wanted something truly immersive, that had no map markers?

Bandits actually do have priority orders, and so do other NPC's; it works on relationship ranks and factions; and they'd still want you dead after the skeleton is gone.

Yes, I agree that the lack of first and third person animations for objects and doors is annoying. I'd love to see this implemented too.

I'm willing to help out with the map one, if you're willing to do all the papyrus work. I can do the modelling and textures, but my papyrus knowledge is limited at best.

Yes well the point you said about the map, the workaround 200 map markers on one map would be to make 7 maps for each province which would make around 30 markers each and will also tell you where each hold ends.

Also what i meant in the shrinking animation is not a first person animation for things, because I said it's ok with me since it could be like telekinesis, but what I do want is a poof thing every time you shrink an object.

And perhaps with the bandits it could work like with guards, like if you attack them they would attack back and when you sheath your weapons after the fight they'll stop unless you've chosen the aggravation dialogue.

And about papyrus I need to do my research because as I've specified I know C++ and C# and not more unfortunately.

Thanks for replying!

Part 1 and 2, I don't feel strongly about, but I say sure, sounds cool.

Part three however, I had never thought of, and I 100% love it! To me, it is all the little things like this, that you can never have too much of.

I find the sheer stupidity of NPCs somewhat depressing.

For example stealing in Skyrim is boring. Either they catch you red handed, or not at all. If they do not catch you in the act, they never notice he fact something (or EVERYTHING) is missing.

I think Skyrim graphics, are wonderful, and the next gen single player RPGs should not worry too much about stepping it up on that end.

My dream RPG, would have about 50 gigs, 40 of which where random voice, and stacks upon stacks of redundant AI checks and balances, that result in NPCs that seem somewhat awake, and reactive to you. The wider the range of this awareness, and the more random/realistic it becomes, the better.

Part 4 made me chuckle. I would not get it myself, but if it was part of an overhaul, I would welcome it.... and probably chuckle every time I looted something for the first few hours.

Glad you like it, I need to gather some more happy little helpers to make this happen so send the word out! I can do the coding but I need someone to handle texturing, meshing and animation so...

Let the games begin!
