Can´t make Vortex work with Valheim

Hello, i need help - i tried to mod Valheim today but i was not able to make it work. First i downloaded BepInEx and put it into my Valheim folder. Then i installed Vortex which told me to install the unstripped dlls which i did. the mods i tried were Timed Torches and FarmGrid - but everytime i would start Valheim, the BepInEx-window would appear and stay and the mods wouldn´t work.

 

I also tried to Install everything (without Vortex) manually but the same problem occured and i don´t know why.

Just an observation:

 

Vortex is only a mod installer.

If you can not make manually installed mods work, your problem is not Vortex.

 

Start with a clean Valheim install.

Then add one mod manually, following the mod instructions exactly. Make sure you installed all prerequisites.

Launch the game exactly as the mod specifies. If it does not work, ask on that mod technical support forum.

 

When that works correctly - come back and we can help you with the Vortex part.

True, thank you for clarification and sorry for my wrong title. I can´t make BepInEx work (i think).

 

I reinstalled Valheim, downloaded BepInEx, put it in the Valheim folder, downloaded the "Timed Torches" Mod, put it into the plugin folder in the BepInEx folder and started the game -> but the BepInEx window opend and not closed again and the mod did not work - i had this issue with and without Vortex.

 

I watched a tutorial video were the BepInEx window vanished after it appeared but it does not for me.

 

I would post a screenshot of it but i don´t know how.

I have the same issue as GreenLeaf753. Thank you for the question. I get the [Error : Unity Log] TypeLoadException: Could not resolve type with token 01000070 (from typeref, class/assembly BepInEx.UnityInput, BepInEx, Version=5.4.20.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null) error and I am trying to use the timed torches mod. It says it has been updated for mistlands expansion and this is the only mod I have tried so far. I would assume mods don't work for Valheim, but I have seen a lot of people using this exact mod. Using nexus vortex with unpacked valheim. Thanks
