savior99 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Anyone had this problem before? I have installed like 50 mods, and now just installed ENB. Never modifed the gamma/brightness, but since ENB project says to lower the brightness at the minimum level, i did that, and noticed that nothing changes...with or without ENB enabled. What could be the cause? Is there any gamma/brightness settings in some ini file that i can try to change manually? Thanks a lot for any advice/suggestion, it seems quite too bright, even in dungeons... P.S. I have also RLO installed, don't dungeons look too bright? (attached image) Edited May 22, 2013 by savior99
prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Brightness setting is in SkyrimPrefs.ini file located in My Document\My Games\Skyrim The setting is called fGamma under [Display] The lowest setting is fGamma=1.4000 Your dungeons are way too bright, you have RLO installed... do you have the correct load order? Are you also under ENB Darker Dungeons/Further Darken Dungeons (not that you should, but just do you?)... Also which ENB is that (ENB can also make dungeons bright) and have you installed it correctly. I think your ENB is not installed correctly, maybe missing the d3d9.dll (do you get a notification of ENB in main menu of Skyrim in upper left corner?), and if that is 'Project ENB' it is very bright in dungeons using the newest RLO ...see my signature, I have a modified version for RLO compatibility, if you like.
savior99 Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Thanks man, i will try that ini settings...hoping it will do smth, the slider doesn't, i mean, it moves but doesn't change anything. I am using Project ENB, followed all the instructions correctly i guess, took d3d9.dll 0.119 from ENB website and copied to skyrim (where TESV.exe is), copied the data folder and the Realistic (main) folder too. At startup it informs me of Enbseries.ini loaded, SSAO on and fast. t seems to be working fine, but game looks very bright, even without ENB. Not that i want super dark dungeons so i can't see a s***, but a bit darker would be good. Yes, i have "further dark dungeons" loaded. For the load order i let Boss do it for me., cannot post it as i am at work. Before i had Enhanced light and FX, but overwrote that with RLO. Maybe i should try your binary and your RLO ? prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Further Dark Dungeons messes with RLO in some cases for me... bit discussing with Project ENB author at the moment about it, I have it disabled for what it's worth. The FDD author also says he doesnt know what the effect will be when used together with RLO, as it's not made to be compatible... Also make sure ELFX is completely disabled and removed before you use RLO, they are also incompatible. BOSS load order for RLO is wrong, follow the mod authors instructions on load order; http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/articles/853/ and ignore whatever BOSS tells you to do with RLO, it's just wrong and causes issues. BOSS is not very up to date and should never be interpretet as being the correct load order, it's just a suggested load order. If a mod author tells you differently then BOSS, you can assume BOSS is probably wrong. As for the slider, are you in windowed mode? You might wanna go fullscreen. Ill send you the settings in PM
savior99 Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Yes man, i am in windowed (Simple Borderless Window) mode, because if i go full screen i get that micro stuttering... maybe i can go in full screen, see if i can change brightness and then go back to SBW ?
savior99 Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Thanks for the tip prod, it was that the issue. I went full screen and i can change brightness. Moreover i found out how to solve microstuttering in full screen, if anyone is interested: V-Sync on, and Frame limit set to 60 (there is a line in the ENBseries.ini, otherwise you have to use a third party software like MSI after burner or Radon PRO)
