maxarturo
Hey everyone. As the question says it. Is there a maximum nif size limit that the game and CK can handle??... I've a mesh i want to use that it's almost 10 Mb and it's causing issues like: - Sometimes it will crash the game and CK, but sometimes. - I have issues with its LOD. The past 3 days all i've doing is going through the mesh and inspecting it to check for any errors, but i can't find anything wrong with it. Thanks for reading this. NexusComa2
The maximum poly count in a nif file is 65000k, but that would be very heavy for your graphics card to render. As a rule most Skyrim nifs have a poly count below 10000k, most in the 3000 to 5000 for larger and more complex meshes. Having a single mesh with a poly count that would equal several standard meshes in size again will kill performance. Most good 3D tools have ways of culling the poly count to a more usable level. Yes you will loose detail, but its a balancing act. Blender can do it. I use a tool in Unity (free and free) to do it and export the mesh.
