I was Just about to create a thread like this, but since you beat me to it I'm support your idea ^___^

 

 

I want a Hawk or Eagle companion with different features that add to immersion.

 

IE: Eagle, bird kills small prey rabbits, fox, small fish near in water bugs etc

> Brings it back to player, Full customization do this, don't do this sort of thing.

 

So First category in Falconry would be, Hunt

Companion name, go hunting/Stop hunting.

 

Second feature would be recalling

Something like horse whistle Bird recalls to you, Perches on your arm > Opens Dialog menu.

Perching Options.

Rest on Shoulder (Probably a million clipping issues here. Better to avoid this option.)

I'll Carry you, stay close. (Rest on arm while OUT of combat, Hawk/Eagle) fly off when senses danger or attacks to increase immersion.)

 

Third Feature Combat/Injuries

Pet companion assists you in various ways in combat.

Staggering Enemies, small amounts of damage. Can be injured/killed/set essential/never injured.

 

This isn't going to be the kind of pet that runs into a mob and kills everything More like an immersion friend/pet.

 

Combat specs

% of causing random staggers

Uses hit and run tactics (Flies in sweeps target or hovers claw with talons, fly away)

Set Random intervals for engaging. First attack is instant or delayed 2nd attack is delayed by X,Y,Z time frames. Give the appearance of combat AI.

Can't use dragon AI will have to start AI building from scratch. And set priories targets, aggression levels. (Dialogue menu Defend me don't defend me.)

Causes random % in fear on target

% attacks will cause bleeding(DPS)

 

Combat Dialog Options

You know... (For Overhaul users.)

>When I enter Combat

>> Don't fight, stay out of harms way.

>> Attack my target

>> Choose your own target (Uses Ai priority values Enemies with bows, Magic first. Lowest Hp etc. WEAKEST FIRST basically.)

 

>Scouting...

>> Scout my surrounding Area, Let me know if there are enemies near by (Pet flys around and squawks when it detects an enemy, receive in game message Companion name, detects enemies near by.)

>> Don't scout, just stay near by. (Hawk doesn't alert you to enemies,)

>> Stay her for a moment.

>> As you were. (Release pet to previous settings changes nothing.)

 

 

Okay so far I've covered Three main catagories

 

Hunting (Gathers some Alchemy materials, small prey)

Scouting (Notifies presence of enemy, location, or something unusual.) requires line of sight.)

Combat (Engage target, don't fight at all, choose own target)

 

This are the three I've thought of in depth. But I'd like it to have even more functionality then that.

 

 

This would obviously be a huge undertaking for a mod and probably why it hasn't been done yet. We have SOME of the meshes in play already from vanilla, but almost EVERYTHING is going to be built from scratch.

And who knows what else I do not mod myself so the problem would be getting an actual moder and a team to pick this up as a project.

I'm not a big fan of wiki, but it's a good start from where to verify other information and get more at. Also has some nice pictures of mesh ideas. It Horseback etc.

 

Even then we can't just hand off a half assed Idea. And say figure out, What exactly do we want this mod to be?

 

A Stand alone pet?

A perk Tree?

A skill? A quest line? How does the quest play out?

 

How does it work, how does it interact with involvement. Followers etc

 

This is my ground basis to be build on.

 

This is a quest line that ends with a Stand alone Pet, and a new skill. "Falcon call"

 

Quest starts as such.

Find a Falconer NPC Trainer > Start quest

Meet requirements

Learn Skill, Buy pet.

 

Owl, Hawk, Falcon, Eagle. All with own abilities perks can only use one at a time.

 

Secondary quests

 

Legendary Pets

Owl Version - Strix (Appearing more like a miniature griffon.)

Capture and train Strix Owl perks plus some

Abilities: Can fight on ground, walk on four legs.

> Scream = Causes fear/and or Paralyze

> Drain = Sucks hp from target to self

> Own set of dynamic kill moves (Not cut screens)

(Based of greek mythology.)

 

Hawk Version

Ojibwa (Native American thunder bird.) Aka zaptos =P

Large Hawk model with Horns Capable of producing various lighting spells in combat

Thunder Call (Outside.) Strikes random targets with lighting can cause knock down.

Lighting Screech: Much like Novice lighting but aped up ower

Maybe a few other lightning spells

 

Falcon Verson

Horus Based of Egyptian Mythology

Unsure about Abilities Horus was the the Egyptian god of of war and hunting. What abilities the falcon might have I'm not sure.

 

Eagle Verison

Tlaloc based off Aztec mythology

Healing abilities Ai healing etc few ice spells

 

At anyrate that's some of what I have to offer at the moment. This idea is actually bigger than you might think. And is going to require some organization. Perhaps we can talk to the current modders in pms and see if anyone is willing to pick up this kind of project or even knows of someone who would be willing.

 

Before this mod can even be started on a of things need to go into it to ensure this works properly.

Research!!!!! Lots of research into falconry and mythical creatures.

This could even lead to flying enemies in skyrim other then dragons and some nice air battles.

Voice actors. This is going to require a fully scripted npcs and quest lines. So we'll need volunteers.

And we go from there.... ugh that was a lot of reading I wonder if anyone read all of that lol.
