Hello guys

I've been playing recently with fallout tactics, and i found a large amount of concept arts and renders for fallout tactics armors on my fallout collection dvd in the bonus section. Anyone else got fallout collection? Well i suck in modeling, but if someone wants to model them i could upload those pics, i would be really happy to see those armors ingame.

Some of the huge number of awesome artworks:

Hmm glad to see concept art from previous games,

Anyways Well I was surfing deviantart I found a few pictures, not really all power armor this time but I thought they deserved a look or two.

Since I've been releasing pictures in the image share to gain interest I decided to go out and find some new content as well.

So here are some new armors I found rather quickly.

MI-03p Suicide Host Armor

MI-02a Personal Armor - This looks like (to me) like the Crysis suit took some serious steriods.

"Hardy Jack" Grim Soldier Power Armor

WSF Power Armor Helmet concept

Azure Eyes Powered Armor

F.L.A.K Assault Suit

Closed Assault Combat Armor

Corporate Infantry Combat Armor

Riot Class Combat Powered Suit

Black Rogue Metal Armor

"H.A.I.S.E" Heavy Armoured Infantry Supplement Exoskeleton

I've been working on this for a digital sculpting project, at first I wanted to make some kind of Alien, but then I decided it would be represented as an amphibious power armor inspired by these things: Crabs, Mirelurks, Black Hand of Nod(C&C 3 variety), Collectors(Mass Effect 2), and Geister/Guyver. Guyver has probably had the most effect on my art style from the time I watched the live action movies on the channel now named Syfy durring my childhood.

Front, back, side, respectively.

The head, which actually lead to the body's design.

Still think elbow blades are pretty stupid, though.

I don't mind working on portfolio stuff, it's good for you, like eating a balanced diet, but it drives me mad if I don't get to use it somewhere eventually.

Very cool, do you plan to finish that armor? or are you planning on starting from scratch with something else?

I'd be interesting to see an armor made of lakelurk and crustation parts or just an organic armor since thats completely new, perhaps it'd be located inside the overgrown "jungle" vault.

Anyways what you have so far looks pretty well, if you've never made an armor for Fallout before I'd suggest asking a vetern before you start working too much, I've heard that modders use some mapping technique to keep the poly count and filesize pretty low otherwise they'd lag the game like hell.

Simply find an armor like you want to make, or pick an armor mod that looks good to you and simply message the author and ask for a bit of advice. Since people willing to spend hours making things to share with others arn't usually a-holes. Of course, some are, just so ya know.

Oh, I've actually got the majority of the body down now, too. The class I'm in right now's main focus is that bit about using maps to decrease polycount. That's also an old picture of the head, it's a little more updated. They're separate models at the moment, but that's probably a good thing if it winds up in Fallout. As for locations, the two best places I can think of is near that deserted outpost east of Golf, and now that you mention it, vault 22. Maybe if it gets some aquatic area added to it.

The suit is supposed to be predominantly organic, yes, but not without a couple computerized components in the back, the square patch on the back of the helmet, for example. The hulking form is an indication that it would make poor swimwear, but then again, have you ever seen a live crab float? Features would include minor rad absorption, it's thick but no hazard suit. Water breathing, but no swimming(if possible, I think the lack of gravity in water may be hard coded). A modest strength increase from the redundantly layered muscle systems, along with an equal agility boost. This unique symbiotic suit could actually enhance endurance(might be ambitious) I don't think it would affect perception or luck much...

As for the downsides, Charisma might take a hit, it's meant to be intimidating, like the Black Hand suit it's based on, if whoever ends up integrating this really wanted to, I suppose they could assign it terrifying presence like traits, but from my experience, that perk's just silly. My idea before I considered this going towards fallout, was that it would have an onboard AI with a superiority complex, meaning the user would have to match wits with it to prove themselves worthy, afterall, it doesn't want to be plunged headfirst into a vat of acid by some moron. Also, being different from traditional power armor, the same learning methods simply wouldn't work for it. In short, I think it would have an intelligence requirement, either presented through speech check or just equipping.

That being said, I think I'm getting ahead of myself here. I've got enough prior experience to know how the GECK handles equipment slots, as I poked around with a couple mods trying to make them compatible, but that ended poorly and the aforementioned bit is probably all I really know from experience about Fallout modding.

Oh, also, I use TUPAM almost religiously, so whenever I think of armors, I always try to make them abide by that standard.

I decided I'm going to post this message despite it being a slight departure. But, previously, I hadn't really thought of making it into something for Fallout, and now I'm almost positive that's what this will end up as after I've turned in the required part for class. When that's said and done, I think I'll make a thread for it after asking around a bit. Thanks for the advice.

Images would be nice.

Also, Polly count?

At the lowest devision, 6480 That's the lowest polycount on the default human body mesh with the head removed.

The highest division is 1658880 polies, but a displacement map is the way to go, so the end result will be much lower.

Ignore the hands for now. I only recently found out what I wanted to do with them.

The feet were a rushed attempt at getting them done, I like how they came out, but I'm probably going to change them, bulk them up a bit.

I plan on continuing on getting the basic design down and then working on the bulk, I know this is counter intuitive, but it's the workflow that's helped me in the past. Especially since I'll be able to hand it in as a finished project before it's actually done.

Back to the subject at hand:

I've found that despite my dislike of Victorian themes, the designs of Ignacio Bazan are pretty f***'n sweet. Caution, the first image that comes up features nudity, but it's artistic. Not like that will dissuade anyone, though.

Thats pretty nice.

im not a huge fan of sculpting, it looks....chisiled?

But for the look your going for and the sources you are using as inspiration id say its the way to go.

As for the poly's thank god your using maps for this thing xD

On a new note; Im happy with your design, I think youve come up with something new and unique, and good luck in your class.

If anything else comes from this thread, I'd love to see another faction or two. As it is, I'm always on good terms with the BoS, so there's never a decent fight to be had with a power armored foe. Kind of renders TUPAM pointless for me, even though I love it so much.
