Install models last?

I wasn't sure whether to put this in Modding Talk or here, but since it's more of a problem... here will do.

I remember installing SAM and Urshi's fine face texture for men and a few other texture replacers for hair and eyes as well as XPMS Extended (in that order). Then I installed RS Children Overhaul along with Interesting NPCs. However, I'd noticed the adults weren't moving their mouths, but the children had no problem doing so. I installed 3DNPCs both through Mod Organizer, then after cleaning my files I did it again manually.

There's also this...

It looked like there were two copies of each non-3DNPCs and this was what baffled me. I tried every solution I could find within Interesting NPCs' FAQ, even scoured through the comments to see if there was something else I could do. But nothing worked.

I've been wondering if I should've installed the models/character textures/skeleton AFTER installing everything else, but I'm not so sure.

Pretty sure the answer is right under my nose.

(I currently don't have this problem since I broke Skyrim twice in a day and had to start over, so I decided to put a hold to any model replacers until I installed everything else that I'd wanted. Mostly environmental and gameplay/interface stuff.)

I know bumping isn't allowed, but I just wanted to say that on my clean save I installed RS Children Overhaul first, then Interesting NPCs, THEN the necessary patches to ensure compatibility for those two. Everything works! I'll be backing up everything before installing the model/texture/skeleton replacers. Fingers crossed!

I always run LOOT every time I install a mod, and I made sure to install XPMS Extended after I installed model replacers like it said to in the description. I had no idea what caused my problem. Maybe Interesting NPCs depended on models that came with vanilla Skyrim, but since I didn't have any of the original models when I installed INPCs, things got messed up?

Honestly, modding is mostly one half a learning experience and the other half careful research. At least everything's going well now.

Thank you for your reply!

The problem appeared again! So I disabled the most recent mods one by one. The cause of all this was CITRUS Heads. Why it was causing problems, I don't know. I didn't install any body mods that changes the meshes for heads.
